(Woe be ye who have caught my interest.)

I must say that:

Option 1:No risk, minimal reward.
Option 2:DANGER! Giving someone else rights to our designs is begging to be screwed up one side and down the other.
Option 3:Very high risk, High reward. Time sensitive.

Therefor:

Option 1 is the only option that makes sense. Since we are so small at this point, I am going on the fact that if Risk>Reward, doing it is a very bad idea. Once we have a more stable base, that may change.

Don't have our sis/engineer do such a pointless task as finding if guns work in space. Reason: They do. If they function using gunpowder/smokeless powder/black powder/whatever you want to call it, the propellant has its own oxidizer, in the form of saltpeter, one of the integral components of the ammunition, meaning it will still work perfectly fine in a vacuum. Recoil would send you flying, but the engines can compensate for it.

We should give them a task to design these:

Bolter Sentry Platform:
1 A18 Hull
4 12mm Machineguns

Kangaroo Hauler:
1 A18 Hull
2 RE4 Engines
2 12mm Machineguns

Sparrow Hauler:
1 A19 Hull
2 RE4 Engines

The RE4 engine requires 1 hull unit. The A19 hull provides 1.5 hull units. The A18 hull does not state how many hull units it provides, but it would seem safe to assume that if it is not mentioned that it is one. The guns are tiny, but do require some space. I wouldn't really want a space vehicle that had absolutely no propulsion, even if it was a (relatively) stationary emplacement. Our current hulls are probably directional, if you want a turret it would probably be problematic to use a directional hull as you want to adjust for recoil and orbital decay rather than accelerate in the same direction for an extended period of time. Also, tug boats may be tough, but for a turret you really want something designed to be shot at.

Yes, but a platform is another type of thing we can make, now perhaps if it needed a special hull type?

Time is money, with interest, we must have made a fortune in the intervening time.

Hey, the GM is still posting...it's probably not dead yet.

I just perused the thread myself, and I am impressed.
