I dunno. if Irene was the apocalypse, it would have to cover the entire Erf, right? I can't imagine the people in Eastern Europe are getting hit very hard by it, at least...

I'm expecting power to go out for a while, hopefully it won't be too bad. We have food that needs to be kept refrigerated after all.

Living in New England for those curious.

The rains and stuff just started from the hurricane..I'm over by Philadelphia.

I've been listening to my ham radio all day for weather reports, I've been having a great time. I just hope the power won't go out here, as the sump pumps in our basement will stop working and I'll have to help lug stuff out of there before it's all flooded.

I woke up from my nap to find that one of the trees in my back yard has been split in half. Vertically.

I'm not sure if this was from wind or lightning strike, but goddamn.

Irene is very dangerous, so don't sit at home. Still, not world ending. NYC just needs to suck it up and rebuild later.

If this happened in May, though, it'd be hilarious due to the rapture thing.

Don't you remember?  He said afterwards that the rapture was happening in slow motion.  Clearly, his predictions are spot on.

Without Harold Camping, we'd never be able to differentiate between typical late-summer weather patterns and the impending (but casual) destruction of the universe!

I pray the end is swift and fiery, just so Harold Camping can die without vindication.

It's not. Ever since Camping's date, we've been struck by famine, war, pestilence, and natural disasters.

And has anyone heard from him lately? It's almost like he vanished from the face of the Earth.

He's off gallivanting around in his celestial RV fleet, like always.

Lights are flickering here near DC, I can hear branches falling on the roof.

This may be my last message before the power fails as well as the router.

 Here it comes.

Thought I could make it through the river that was countyline road. The truck stalled and I was stuck for 30 minutes until, by the grace of the ignition Gods, it started up again.
