I'll vote No to the resolution, due to the part penalising non-green construction. If this were changed to penalising anyone who is not self-sufficient in terms of Minerals after, say, 6 turns, Big Brother would support the measure.

i.e. if you can't foot the mineral bill yourself, economic sanctions.

I vote Yes because the planet has no research benefits and thus will not be a super-tech world.

"This is World News Service reporting. The U.N. Has reportedly Built a supercollider near the Old Australian Capital, and built a university around it to study it(Innovation Complex)(+10 Edu. Prod./turn to every country)."
"In addition to this, recent global Green Initiatives have more than halved the worlds current consumption of natural resources. World Leaders are hailing this as a dawn of a new era."

I'm considering going at 4 ingame turns per forum game turn. This would speed up gameplay considerably, and if projects were to finish before that time is up you could just queue it.

What the heck?! With the introduction of Education, I'm even farther behind everyone else! Screw it, I've got little to lose, I'll be superseded by everyone else in no time, and there's not much going on.

Invade the Southern Nations with everything. Nuke their military assets with a nuke attack and nuke their nukes with 2 nuke attacks. Warn everybody else that retribution will be swift and deadly if they intervene on behalf of the CSN

I most certainly did not write that...

No, Dave, I'm attacking South America (but not Mexico for some reason). Their formal name is the coalition of southern nations.

Edit: just noticed that Dave's against me.

I will nuke you back to the stone age, so butt out.
So ... you're starting World War III, and only using militia for defense? Alright.
New African fortified bunker, location unknown.

The Democratically Elected President meets with his top military personnel and various aides. A table showing a map of Earth has countless lights blinking ominously.

Democratically Elected President: "This looks bad."

General: "The UA has gone completely insane and launched a nuclear assault against the CSN. A military follow-up will doubtlessly be along shortly after the nukes destroy all opposition."

Democratically Elected President: "And the nukes are in the air now?"

General: "Yes."

Democratically Elected President: "How did we get here so fast?"

Aide: "We were planning an attack on Zanzibar. They're rioting over your recent decisions."

Democratically Elected President: "Well, we can't very well allow them to reduce other large geo-political entities into glowing rubble! We'd be next for sure ... Someone petition the UN to impose sanctions."

General: "Sir, they've started World War III, and your response is to impose sanctions? We must retaliate while they're weakened from their attack."

Democratically Elected President: "But imposing sanctions is fun. If we don't impose sanctions, then who will?"

General: "Uh ..."

Democratically Elected President: "Oh, and do finish that research on Off-World Architecture ... Followed by Mass-Colonization, I feel. And raise more troops. We may need them if the UA keeps this aggression up."

Ecologist: "Their nuclear radiation will poison us!"

Democratically Elected President: "Oh, fine. Launch all nukes at UA missile facilities (If they're one-use, I'm holding onto them) and follow-up with an immediate invasion by 40 million troops or so. I'll call the UN about imposing sanctions."

---

Democratically Elected President: "Hello, UN? ... Oh, hi president Areyoua. Wrong number, but I declare our Pact of Brotherhood to be full of droids. Good day."

UN Proposal: Impose sanctions on the UA for starting World War III.
Edit:

UN Proposal 2: Annex the UA, and divide them up based on how many damage they inflict in retaliation against those who launch punitive strikes, with all participants getting at least 10% of their surviving usable land.
[/dreamsequence]

Democratically Elected President: "Huh, what an unpleasant dream. Do we need to declare war on anybody?"

Aide: "What? Why would we need to declare war based on some foolish dream? My fellow Zanzibarrians are perfect model citizens!"

Democratically Elected President: "I never mentioned them. Anyway:
Research Queue: Off-World Architecture, Mass Colonization.
Economic Projects: National Troop Program IF UN resolution fails. (Secondary: Improve Taxation, if 2 passes but 3 fails)"

UN Proposals:
1 - Ban International Free Trade agreements from Earth. It is too invasive on Earth's resources.
2 - Ban large-scale troop recruitment efforts from Earth. It would spiral into a pointless and expensive arms race, followed by war on a massive scale.
3 - Ban economic policies that deplete the Earth's resources.

I think that it is in everyone's best interest for me to not invade... this game was going so well. I would note that I'm using nuclear arms as defense.

Call off the invasion, I never said that. It was always more of a thought experiment... Anyway, launch nukes only in retaliatory strikes.

Construction Project: uh, another factory? I've got to make up for the UA's weakness somehow.
Research Project: Um, did I complete off world architecture? If I did, then go to Mass-Colonization then FTL Travel
Economic Project: Tax Raising Level 1

The Tea Party's not going to be happy...

UN proposal

4. Give UN control of all major alliances, but allow the current leaders to jointly rule the UN with all orders given by majority vote. Of course, this will only apply if everyone says "yes"

2. Yes
3. No
4. Yes (obviously)

4. No, but I'll rethink my vote if you rephrase it so it can only be interpreted one way.

My best guess is that it gives the UN control of all our military forces, and puts us in control of the UN. The exact phrasing, however, indicates that you might be trying to turn this into a suggestion game, or have us jointly control alliance settings for some reason.
