I assumed I did, because there wasn't any mention of it on that roll...

You received the letter. But the letter never find his way to Lewangaria.

And funds used are used. Otherwise you can just throw the dice until oblivion.

((It's too bad the ESLPS (or is it the ESLPO?) only operates in Lencil (and my imagination). This would never have happened to them.))

[3] Nope. The Telosian are not an army with a country. They just did material preparations, but their chances of attacking is slim.

Unless someone disagrees, we can prepare to move to the next season (while I do the bastard's turn). Sovereigns can have a chance to let your levy troops back to the fields, or to keep them battle-ready.

((It is not uncommon for international mail be opened and checked. At least in this background. In addition, you can never discount the existence of spies already deployed. For a wealthy state like Telos, they could have spared the money.))

Move on and disband Levy troops.

God DAMN I love this game!

Move on (I don't have levies and if I do disband them)

And hopefully roll 4 6's in recompense.

Wait, that might be a bad thing...

Roderigo takes a bit of time to wash the blood out of his old clothes, then steals the horses.

Roderigo crosses the border, or at least heads to the next inn and gets some sleep there.  Once the opportunity arrives, he will try to sell the two mares and keep the stallion for himself.

Unless otherwise mentioned Roderigo continues to travel towards Lencil at a more leisurely pace now that he has crossed the border, stopping at inns (higher class inns, wearing the fine suit, seedier dives wearing his normal clothes) and gambling using the jewellery as a medium of exchange.  Even in the worst case scenario he'll just lose some hot items, and in a better case he might end up exchanging some or all of it for cash and making a few florins along the way.

[5] You successfully cleaned your clothes, after some prolonged cleaning. [4][5][5] You stole all three horses.
As the Woodlands of Talaca gave way to the rolling hills of Epicea, [2] you heard a few mounted men hot on your tail. Clearly a man in fine clothing with three horses is going to be suspicious, and they just do not like to respect national borders. [2] They were riding superior horses and caught you, forcing you to fight on your horse.
Roderigo: 3/3 HP, +1 for weapon training.
Lawmen: 3/3 HP.
[1]+1 v [2] While your axe is clearly not a good weapon to use on a horse, their gentlemanly rapiers are no batter. Your weapons clanged real hard. A lawman dropped from his saddle, but you also feel pain in your muscle. (-1hp, -1hp)
[4]+1 v [1] Your second swipe has landed hard on the second lawman, as he was distracted by the horse that the first lawman rode. He lost control of his horse and also fell. (lawmen -1hp)
[3]+1 v [5] The third lawman is clearly more well-prepared, as he drew his sabre and made a good cut in your face. (Roderigo -1hp)
[4]+1 v [3] In desperation you lunged onto him. He was surprised, and the last thing he saw was your axehead landing on his face. (Lawmen -1hp)
[6] The three men were found dead or unconscious. You took your time in collecting a set of clothing more suited to a traveler, collective wealth of 2f, and most importantly two stallions and a gelding. You cleaned that sabre and hung it against your hip, knowing it would be more useful on horseback than your axe. You also know that they are relatives to one of the men you killed a few days ago - no wonder. Probably you are now most wanted in Talaca.
[5] You sold your five extra horses for 1f. Not a lot of money, but should make yourself less suspicious.

[4] Following the road through the Epicean hills, you reached another inn, and found a few [4] travellers gambling there. [6] From their looks, however, they look too professional to pose as travellers. Perhaps one day you can write memoirs on becoming a legendary gambler...

Sit back and wait for the quarter to pass. Read a few books on the history of the region.

Hang on...

Approximately 50 years ago, The city of Lewangaria was involved with a land dispute with Giokharia, a nearby city. Fearing the wealth from Lewangaria, which was accumulated from its trade routes owing to its position, Giokharia allied with a few towns nearby, and formed the Federated towns and city-states of Telos. The federation initially lost a lot of land, including Giokharia itself, but gains by Lewangaria were quickly undermined by its own nobles, as they collaborated with Telosians and borders went back to pre-war.

As a result, there has been a great, great deal of distrust between Telos and Lewangaria. There are tensions, but both are resigned that they both prefer to fight it in a more mercantile manner. Or so it seems...

((Can sovereigns post your own inventory? It got buried deep inside posts. I'll check.))

Global outlook:
[4] Nothing special. Harvest as usual.

Lencil:
[1] ((You got your 1s.)) Your peasants are revolting. 2 regiments of Levy infantry rose against your rule. They stated your inability to protect your own land as a reason. -10f income this autumn.

Carrera:
[6] Despite winning the war, they know how poorly developed their land is compared to Lencillians. They got 2 more parcels of land.

Lewangaria
[3] -1f/quarter in Lewangaria (one city only) due to emigration.

Talaca
[1] Some Talosian Partisans, knowing the news of your proposed invasion, has started looting fields and advancing to your city. Rebels: 1 regiment of Professional Polearm Infantry.

Talos
[6] +3f/quarter for towns as flock from Talaca and Lewangaria. Seems that they have selected their side before any real hostilities.
