How does it work? Does it just use the skill, or does certain clothes boost it like persuasion?

It works like all skills: you take seduction + Charisma/2, you divide that number by 3 (and keep the rest), roll that much D6, and if the rest is 1, roll 1D3 more, if the rest is 2, roll 1D5 more. Keep the three highest dice. You must beat 11 (or 15 in case you try seducing the corporate CEO). AFAIK, there is no clothing bonus.

1D3 is one dice with three sides and 1D5 is one dice with 5 sides.

In general, xDy means the game "rolls dice", where x is the number of dice, each containing numbers 1 ... y. For example, 1d6 means one roll of the normal six-sided die.
