"I am able to give a partial account as to what happened.  I was able to connect with the mind of the mage, and get a feel for what he sensed as I worked to stop the sandstorm.  Then someone stabbed him!  After that, there was a surge of magic, which vented through his head, which sustained a critical existence failure."

"Why was someone stabbing the mage?  Who is unaccounted for during the exchange?"

"Sirs Elensar, Victicus, and Sane were talking to the leader, so it is unlikely to have been them."

Sir Far, can you tell us how your assistance of Sir Kumspect went?

Sir Kumspect, did you stab him?

Considering that the diplomatic part went okay, I guess that either neither Elensar nor Victicus are Knaves, or they weren't trying to sabotage that part, relying on stabbing the mage. Overall, a nulltell. Same goes of course for me :/

Also, a stab wound sounds a lot like a knife, but I guess a knave would carry one of those around anyway, so that doesn't matter.
And Sir Quarcaine, he didn't use any magic. At least, I am not aware that he did. It was the rebel mage who got killed that cast the sandstorm spell. Speaking of which, you said we should kill him if negotiations failed. You wouldn't know anything about it would you?

For the night, I'd suggest two sleeping shifts in groups of 4. That way nobody can act out of place without anybody else noticing.

"I agree. But first, I'd like to dig a bit deeper in the sudden death of the mage. If I am not mistaken, Sirs Far, Kumspecht and Elousy were tasked with eliminating the mage should trouble arise. Of these three, Sir Kumspecht has less experience with the dagger, but more with moving unseen. In my opinion, all three of them could have stabbed the wizard, be it an act of treason, or mere accident."

"Werern't we not supposed to use magic until the more witty members of the party couldn't convince them we were fighting for the good of all the land? And that attacking us would be bad for the kingdoms freedom?"

Why was he both stabbed and magicfied?  Seems suspicious.

Even the vilest knave would not strike a man whilst he slumbers. Well, ok, he would, but he can't. Not a game feature. The camp phase is for discussion and potential lynching only.

I assume the magic was his own. Depending on how magic works, he could've lost control over it when he got stabbed, making his head asplode.

I was thinking the same thing. Still, we have an unexplained dagger, so I'd like to hear what happened according to Sir Far and Sir Kumspecht.

"I confess, I believe my own mistake is to blame for this tragedy.  My aim was to move into position to watch the mage without being seen, then try to disable him if I heard the sounds of battle.

I... failed.  Critically so.  I misjudged the distances and ended up on the far side of the mage, distant enough that I could not see any of you but only hear roughly the voices of those beyond.  When I heard shouting and raised voices through the heavy sand, I thought battle had commenced and sought to give what aid I could to my companions.  I threw a knife into the sleet of sand, though I saw not if it hit - I can only assume it did, since the storm dissipated thereafter.

I do not know why his head would have exploded - the mages might better be able to answer that."

Hm.. I see.  Sounds legit, almost too legit.  I would quit my accusations, but you're excuse is legit.  Maybe.
