Excellent. We can begin. Let us start with a little bit of background.

Ahem-hem.

Fifty-three years ago, an evil Dragon came into possession of the Staff of Storms, a powerful artefact which granted it complete control over the weather of the Suranic Kingdom. Using the staff, and its secret organisation of followers, the Dragon drove out the rightful king and his supporters, and made itself the lord of the land. The Knights of the Square Table, personal knights of the king, were hunted down and killed.
Or so they would have people believe.
In secret, the Knights merely retreated from the Dragon's rage. Some followed the King in exile, others fled to mountain sanctuaries, others discarded their armour and hid in plain sight. The Square Table survived, and worked to relieve the suffering of the people and sabotage the rule of the Dragon-Lord. Today, the finest Knights gather in the secret hall of the Knight-Commander, to be given a task which could potentially overthrow the Dragon-Lord in one fell swoop.

The eight Knights assemble around the table;
 Sir Sane the wise
 Sir Quarcaine the strong
Sir Elensar the good at talking
 Sir Kumspecht the sneaky
 Sir Eously the terrible pun
 Sir Victicus Derpinson the derpy
 Sir Adrian the archer
 Sir Far the surprisingly nearby
(added titles not important)

The Knight-Commander addresses the Knights in a grave tone.
"Friends, welcome to mine hall. Let us speak with haste, for time is of the essence. Even now the Dragon-Lords men seek the grail of ours, and should they finde it first, all hope shall be lost.
For what we seek, comrades, is nothing other than the Staff of Storms itself!"
Gasp, murmur murmur.
"A noble knight of our order risked his life to infiltrate the Dragon's horde whilst it slept, and stole from between its talons the Staff. Alas, he was caught escaping, and fatally wounded. Despite his wounds he managed to escape, and has hidden the Staff in an ancient sanctuary of the Square Table. It is there that you must travel, making sure to avoid the Dragon-Lord and his agents, and retrieve it and return it here, so that we may banish the Dragon and restore peace to the kingdom!"
Murmur murmur.
"But thou must make great haste! The sanctuary shields itself from watchful eyes with powerful magic, but with the staff exuding such a powerful magical aura, the defences will soon crumble! Our mages calculate that the shields should last eight days before failing, whereupon the Dragon-Lord will be able to detect the staff and fly to it in an instant, undoing the work of the deceased knight."
Murmur murmur, table banging, murmur.
"One last thing before you go, friends: there walk amongst thee... traitors!"
Gasp, angry cries, table banging, murmur murmur.
"Ordinarily we would seek out these traitors, but there is no time! You must seek out these agents of the Dragon as you travel, or at least make sure that they cannot sabotage your quest. There are no other knights available, so it must be this way.
Now, friends, ride! The armoury is yours, but you must make haste! Ride for the pale hills, and thence through Hazewood, till you reach the crumbled keep of Nukeifuge! There you shall find the sanctuary, and the staff. Hurry!"

Now we simply send out the various role PMs and then start the game! Gonna lock the thread whilst doing so, have patience.

The Party:
Victory Points: 0/12

○ - Unwounded
- Wounded

[Wound] Player
[○ ○ ○]   Sir Sane the wise
[○ ○ ○]   Sir Quarcaine the strong
[○ ○ ○]   Sir Elensar the good at talking
[○ ○ ○]   Sir Kumspecht the sneaky
[○ ○ ○]   Sir Eously the terrible pun
[○ ○ ○]   Sir Victicus Derpinson the derpy
[○ ○ ○]   Sir Adrian the archer
[○ ○ ○]   Sir Far the surprisingly nearby

Day 1: Challenge Phase
You saddle up your horses, and journey forth from the Knight-Commander's Hall along the winding canyon roads. The skies are dark and stormy, but soon you reach the end of the mountains and enter the Pale Hills... notorious for their glaring sun, and for the beasts which plague them.

As you progress into through the opressive heat of the hills, and the sun grows bright around you, you hear an unnatural cry, followed by several more! You dismount and enter a gully, your weapons brandished, when suddenly the wind picks up, and a billowing sandstorm surrounds you. Arrows thud into the dust by your feet, and you hear weapons banging on shields somewhere in the storm. A man emerges from the dust, bearing not the emblem of the Dragon-Lord, but an unknown crest upon his shield.
"What have we here? Armed travellers, lackeys of the Dragon-Lord, no doubt! We will not bow to your tyranny, fiends, for we too can control the weather!"- he gestures around him, indicating the sandstorm.
"Now lay down your weapons and die with what little honour you have!"

What will you do?

Main Challenge: Escape the sandstorm rebels (1 Victory Point)
Optional: Don't kill any of the rebels. (1 Victory Point)

Obvious Actions:
1) Attack the Rebels directly.
2) Distract the Rebels, then sneak off through the storm.
3) Explain the Situation and hope for mercy

Extra Information:
-The rebel leader seems very stubborn and would be hard to convince
-Visibility is very poor for everyone; you don't think the rebels would notice if one or two of you snuck off.
-The storm appears to be caused by a powerful but localised magic. There is probably a mage nearby casting the spell.

Discuss actions amongst yourselves, and once everyone is decided, PM your action to the GM.

(A note on victory points: The final battle will trigger once you have collect 12 victory points. If you do not do so in 8 days, the Knaves win. Failing the main challenge will cost victory points when it doesn't cost you your life. Most Challenges will have 3-4 victory points attainable. This is an easy challenge, with a correspondingly low reward)

And one last thing: please submit your actions within 3 days, lest things drag on too long.

Well, most of us have pretty high speech so we may be able to talk are way out of this, if not the archer should try to sneak off so he could get a clear shot of the leader, thus lowering there morale.

"It doesn't seem this fellow is going to listen to reason, but we've all seen Sir Elensar pull us through worth situations.  Even if talking doesn't work, it could give one or two of us enough distraction to scout around - there's no way this storm is natural.

"Sir Elensar, do you think you'll have a chance of convincing them we're not servants of the Dragon?

"Sir Far, if Sir Eously assisted you, do you think you could counteract this storm?  If it does come to a fight we could use the advantage, and if not then breaking their spell might scare the raiders enough for Sir Elensar to talk them out of an attack.

"What do you all think?"

" 'Twould be a veritable shame, truely, were we forceth to assaulte those misinformed peasants. Say, my good Sir Elousy, sir Far, couldst thou, using thyne magicks, intensify the sandstorm? Such wouldst perhaps alloweth our brave groupe to pass bye without getting attacketh by yonder warriors.
And indeed, Sir Elensar, such shouldst be attempteth only after trying to cleare these would-be miscreants thoughts. Although I dost not think the brave leader shall noticeth me aiming for himme, if I shoot not one arrow at his feet, which wouldst be verily dangerouse in such storms."

"Just talk them out of attacking us...hopefully you can convince them we are are on a journey to save the kingdom..if all else fails one of us could probably attack the sandstorm mage but lets hope it doens't come to that...we could lose some men..."
