I'm interested. Don't suppose there's room for one more?

Ok sweet. Here goes then:

Name: Alexei "the Great" Semyonov
Age: 22
Class: Marine
Stats: Strength(3)  Speed(4)  Flexibility(3)  Accuracy(4)  Perception(4)  Detail(4)  Logic(3)  Math(2)  Lateral(3)
Perk:Medic
Bio: Of Russian descent, Alexei was born and raised in America. He enlisted at 18 and his clear-headedness and natural skill with firearms quickly saw him recruited into the marines. Alexei was on his way home from offshore training when the bombs hit. His unit was one of those detailed to hand out transmitters in :City A:, but the distribution point was attacked by a swarm of zombies drawn to the crowd, which killed every member of his unit except him. Alexei only managed to escape by burning down the distribution building, with all the transmitters inside. Now he just has to survive the rest of the city.

Yeah, why not.
Due to the incredible turnover of the FG-RP board, I'll take it up to eight.

Edit: Also, I've put a lot more in the top post, so make sure to check that out.

Name: Theodore "Teddy" Clark
Age: 39
Class: Hero
Stats: Strength(4)  Speed(3)  Flexibility(3)  Accuracy(5)  Perception(5)  Detail(5)  Logic(4)  Math(5)  Lateral(2)
Perks: Desperado Sniper

Bio: Mr. Clark once served his country faithfully, doing her dirty work in all sorts of bloody hellholes. It was a new world though, and shadow ops weren't part of it. Of course, the government didn't need people like Mr. Clark after that, did they? He'd never begrudged them that, he'd do more harm than good in the new world. Clark had settled down then, working as hard as he could to readjust to the civilian world and fully dedicated to his wife and daughter.

Then the world had to go change again, and once again it needed the old Clark. He hadn't been around when it had happened, but he'd damn sure get back to get his family. While Clark was at it, every other family that could get saved would be.

I'm the only hero thus far? Interesting. Clark is a cross between his namesake and the classic "don't mess with my family" action hero, probably looking like Jason Statham.

i want a hero who is a vietnam vet with a low sanity who suffers flashbacks and sais "Charlies, IN THE TREEZ!" and goes berzerk  :D But with marines having so many stats points but low stat caps, I couldnt justify having low sanity.  :D

Stat point wise, survivors actually get the most. But yeah, I'd go a hero.
Currently we've got 2 marines, 2 uninfected, 1 hero and 1 survivor.

So we're waiting on Geen, and there's still one spot open.

But yeah, sanity is actually very based on class. Having a high logic makes you regain sanity around comfortable situations, and having a high lateral makes you lose less in strange situations. For instance, a person with 5 logic and 0 lateral would actually lose sanity if they saw one of their companions jury-rig up a tesla coil using a powerline, three potatoes and a matchbox.

War must be, while we defend our lives against a destroyer who would devour all; but I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend.

How much work is there under the hood of this system? I'm curious how much is stat based, luck based, and fiat based.

Do we get any choice in our starting inventory?

1. I've made the mechanics pretty simple to make up for the complexity of everything else. Basically, perks let you do things, Stats make those things happen better, and your crit stats make you more likely to get better outcomes. In fact, the game is actually pretty flawed in that if you have 0 lateral or 0 detail, you can't actually crit.

2. Nope. Marines will get better equipment all 'round, and each Hero will start with a minor-ly game-breaking item. Survivors will, of course, start with twice the supplies, but use twice the supplies. And Uninfected start without food or much equipment.

Also, on that note, I won't be putting 'You see a baseball bat, twelve shillings, a toy bird' etc. in. Otherwise the first supermarket you walk into would eat up all of my time. Instead, because you have six hour blocks, just say something like 'Go to the supermarket, search for a weapon', or 'Go to the supermarket, search for food'.
If you search, though, you'll stop on the first one you find. If you put 'Collect food for x hours', then you'll keep grabbing some until you either won't be able to move, or can't find anymore. If you put 'collect x food', then you'll spend as long as it takes trying to find that quantity.

And Geen hasn't put down his character, so he can miss the first turn. Which is coming up as soon as I write it.
