A bit of a necrobump (though it doesn't note the necro-warning of 120 days?) but I'm curious if others are still playing this (other than Cinder and IcyTea)? :P

A strange occurrence I had was...getting imprisoned because of an ambition. While that's not bad in itself, I accidentally got imprisoned again and now my permanent criminal record is going to get another mark <_< This game is very good in writing that makes me not want to continue because of that +1 mark (in which I even waited a week for the usual Menace drop, but nope! Stuck in Imprisonment screen with no hope of lowering that criminal record, though I do have Connected: The Masters at 4 and it appears there's an option at 5...wondering if I can achieve that if ever instead of taking that criminal record+. :-X).

Very good writing but very demoralizing (because of that good writing, but argh that mechanical dead end). On the plus side, I'm now a person of some importance.

...It's like the good content was pushed way further into the game. :-[

Yeah, I still play.

I'm trying to build a submarine, and the clockwork contraption grind is a bit daunting.

I try to minimize my trips to prison, but is there really any downside?  I also try not to die, but being a regular player on the chessboard might have advantages?

I pop in every now and then. I seem to be at a place where whatever I do, it's a massive grind, so I don't tend to keep interest for long. It's all so complex, I can't keep track of everything that's going on. I was away for years, so I think I got lost. Now and then I consider just starting over from scratch with a new character... But I think I might lose whatever bonuses I got by buying Sunless Sea if I do that? Not that I even know what bonuses I got...

(My character is Kotshka, by the way.)

I haven't seen everything yet, but one downside to having a criminal record is that it weakens Nikolas & Sons Instant Ablution Absolution, making it harder to reduce Suspicion. I've yet to find a way to get rid of my record, but there'll probably be a ridiculously expensive option sooner or later.

I also reached POSI status some time ago, completely unspoiled.

I could use a Knife & Candle invitation, by the way. Some PvP could be fun.

I'm playing, ableit distractedly. Still grinding for the last option on the Presumptuous Opportunity card. I've been at it a year and a half now. Only two more draws left and it's mmmmmiiiiiiiinnneeeeeee!

But basically I log in to re-up Notability via Writing Short Stories, and occasionally farm mats to keep that going. Otherwise I'm not paying attention since I've done all FL has to offer short of House of Chimes paid content. So if you've tried to message me lately, I've only been remembering to look at the tab every other week. (Be nice if they had a *new* flag on that tab for when you receive a message.) I haven't even taken up my Foreign Posting yet because I feel so tied to FL and having to maintain Notability. I could probably make it work but eh, I just want to get this buttoned up in the least time consuming way possible. FL is a hell of a lot less enjoyable when you have to approach it like a bot would.

Squee \o/ I'm Tiruin! (Big surprise :P)

It's pretty daunting 'grinding' for several of the Bazaar side-street items, but I'm having fun reading certain specific storylines and putting myself in the shoes of my character. It's that sometimes surprises that you can't reverse happen that leaves me grumpy (ie Ambition: Bag a Legend requires you to go to jail :V That's what got me and my criminal record. Gah!)

Dude get a Salon.
Doesn't that only fill the only Affiliation slot? (Along with the opposite Orphanage and the rest?)

Salons and Orphanages are not affliations.

The Orphanage IS an affiliation.

The point is, the Orphange gives you Opportunity Card draws that, with investment, can yield a lot of MW quickly. It doesn't need to be equipped in order to make the Orphanage Opportunity Card show up.

I basically always have an Orphange Opportunity card drawn in case something unlikely or stupid happens and I'm in danger of not hitting 14 Making Waves by the time the week turns over. Have never had to use it. Writing two Short Stories and using a couple smaller MW Opportunity cards generally guarantees I'll hit my MW quota for the week so I can maintain 7 Notability.

I got the vial for selling the location of the Cave of the Nadir to the Revolutionaries, which was a tough decision seeing as they're probably the only faction in Fallen London that I actually despise, but after some considerations they're probably the group that my character would throw their lot in with, even if they had the same OOC knowledge as I have for how nasty the revolutionaries are.

Yeah, but I have both the Vial and I didn't have to deal with any filthy beatnicks.

Only cost me the equivalent of all the wine in fucking Europe. As far as I'm concerned, this little vial is my character's insurance policy against their relationship with the Masters going sour.

Has anyone over here ever done that questline of insanity involving a missing Master?
