Sadly, the only truly reliable place I know of to obtain said jewels is in the Side-Streets. I say sadly because the constables have been instructed to keep those who are not truly exceptional away from there. However if I find myself in a position to send the desired jewels to a person in need, who exactly would I need to address them to?

I have heard it said, from a friend of a friend of course, that somewhat successful pickpockets in Spite manage to find all sorts of jewels...

[Spite.  The Alleys of Spite.  The Pickpocket's Promenade!  Cash in 20 trophies.  Fairly easy to do, as I've done it twice, but for the diamonds, actually.]

Unfortunately, an uninteresting person such as myself wouldn't know who that friend of a friend might be, as my life is a dull routine far up on the surface and my only connection to the City is passing along the occasional bit of delicious gossip. Although perhaps I do myself injustice, for I have been told that in rather particular lighting I do bear a striking resemblance to a certain Londonian individual answering to the name of Mr. - Mrs. - to the name of Vide.

A friend of a friend concurs that a couple of strolls down certain crowded sidestreets in the Spite does indeed have the tendency to make an insignificant person's dull life so dazzling that they can satisfy the wants of even the keenest-eyed of their admirers...

[Ugh. The Promenade mechanics are a lot more luck-based than I'd like, but in the end it only took four jaunts to get what I needed...]

I'm starting to hate the mid-game. Do a thing 40 times, 30 of which you fail and you earn a negative quality. Spend 10 actions a day trying to remove those qualities. Realize that after 3 days, you've made no net progress on the storylet because of setbacks.

(I've had the little green plant storylet for like a month now, but every time it hits 4 I starting getting the "matter of luck" cards that always cause it to drop to 3 or less.)

I'm finding advancing in the Flit to be a bit of a pain in the ass.

As far as the plant goes, anytime one of the "luck" cards gets pulled, I just discard it.  There's at least one card that lets you pay pearls (I think) for guaranteed change points.  I only use that one.

Active and willing. sjm9876 IGN unsurprisingly.

And I have recently acquired a destiny. I believe when they come full circle we shall all have to compare notes.

My Dearest Vicomt,

I was most pleased to make your acquaintance this evening at the Singing Mandrake. Your innocence reminded me of a simpler time in my life. I am currently in search of another starveling cat, and as such would be most grateful for any and all boxes that may or may not contain a cat. If you need assistance with anything please do not hesitate to call upon my room at the Royal Bethlehem.

Regards,
Theodolus

Bumbling through the future possibilities, I have acquired.....The Revelation! To free mankind from the chains of mortality, I shall ascend the Mountain of Light!....

Some day at any rate. At least I got a useful piece of gear out of the whole deal.

I'm wandering the Mirror Marches myself, but I'll be home before the clock strikes midnight. My question is if I should steadfastly hold to my (third) choice for destiny, or prevaricate once more.

You can still do the Feast of Masks stories until November 7, so never fear!

Your choice though, once you pick it, seems to be final for the time being.

Also, I don't know if this is a result of picking a future, but "Attracting Visitors at Hallowmass" is gone for me.
