Fate is now being (sorta) replaced with Nex.  I guess I can't complain, it looks like they had their reasons.  I'm just sorta annoyed because Fate felt more... Echo Bazaary.

I (and everyone who signed up earlier, I think) have been accepted into the StoryNexus beta, hurray! I have to say, it is very easy to use! Most of the core concepts and things are in, though there's obviously a lot of stuff that they're still going to add. I am working on the aforementioned airship-captainery extragavanza, heheee. Is anybody else in(terested)?

Anyway, this is only tangentially related to Fallen London, so I made a thread for it, too.

Bit of a bump, but I just started playing this game and it's pretty nifty. However, there doesn't seem to be much in the way of player to player interaction. Am I missing something?

No, the player to player interaction is mostly just getting second chances via actions at your house. There is some higher level stuff but unless you know a bunch of other folks they aren't terribly useful. But welcome to the city in any case.

I'm necroing a bit here, but I suppose it is better way to do this than to start a new topic. :)

So, I've been playing this for some time now, and I sunk into it like into the quicksand. Well, more, actually, as quicksand isn't very sucking-in, as Mythbusters shown, but anyway. I'm specializing in being as Shadowy as possible, with some Persuasive on top (oh, those damned Ambitions!), and all the more often I'm running into social - enabled content (there is a move to make it little more player-player interaction-y), and I don't have any friends to play with. So my first thought, when seeing a great, strange, complicated game and nobody to play with? Well, Bay 12 of course. :D So, is anyone around still playing this? I'm (obviously) BlindKitty in game, and I welcome any friends. :)

I have added you. I highly suggest going to the failbetter forums. They have a thread explicitly for adding friends who can help you with the social aspect of the game. All without having to actually talk to anyone! They have an 'assistance' thread in which folks volunteer to assist others as well. In any case, I'm willing to give you a hand with just about anything as long as I'm still in London and not, you know, making myself crazy in the Iron Republic or being smothered by clothes in Polythreme or something of that ilk.

Does anyone still play this? I was getting some annoying messages from the game on my Twitter account so I logged in planning to just disable the account (or at least the notifications), then somehow I found myself getting right back into it. I know I can find friends over on their forums, but I'd rather play with B12ers and real-life friends if I can manage it.

Right now I'm getting dangerously high on nightmares, and can't remember any way to decrease them without social interaction.

Anyone who wants can add me with twitter username meganleb.

You can decrease nightmares using laundanum. That does give you (some) wounds though, which take forever to get rid of without help.

Actually, I'll try getting back into it again for a while. Send your requests to kingmadagascar. Scratch that, I am lemon10, but my username on twitter is kingmadagascar. Well, I am pretty sure thats how it is, whichever one you find is the correct one.

Wounds aren't hard to decrease, you can use a different bottle to decrease those If I remember right. (Or rest in your lodgings I think).

Where do you get laudanum? I've been away from this game for so long, I can't remember anything. : )

You are right, you can use tincture of vigour to decrease wounds. You can also do it in your lodgings, but thats only reduces it by 1 per action, compared with 4 for the group action, or (3?) for the bottle.

I'll use this chance to remind people that StoryNexus exists and that they've implemented multiple authors, paving way for a possible Bay 12 community game. Wink wink nusge nudge.

On-topic, I think some of the 'rest' opportunities and actions decrease pretty much everything.

Yes, I noticed that we can make stories now... I've got some completely unreasonable megaproject-style ideas. I'd be absolutely up for creating a game with you guys.

Has anyone else been having trouble getting on to the site for the past couple of days? Sometimes I can connect just fine, but others it won't load at all...
