For those of you that reached the content cap on their ambition, and since stopped playing: more content has been added to ambitions.

Trying to make my way into the Labyrinth of Tigers...

Trying to get into the fourth coil.  I need a "making progess in the Labyrinth of Tigers" quality of 14, but I only have 13.  I'm not sure where I'm supposed to grind it o_O

If your dangerous is 110, you should get a random card unlocking the fourth coil, otherwise I believe that you have a similar option in your lodgings (that doesn't require dangerous 110).

Holy hell, after nearly TWO WEEKS finally got The Devil and the Child. If only echoing to twitter wasn't broken, maybe I'd be able to do it in only one! I hope there aren't many more 5-action cards because all this stress can't be healthy.

There's a handful of 5-action cards, but they do give nice expensive stuff.

After a lot of grinding, I finally got 400 echos to spend on a new gun to finish a storylet.  I should be ready to get to Polythyreme soon.  I also made a Zubmarine ^_^

So I made it to Polythreme... and honestly I'm not enjoying myself o_O

The fact you have to grind Fascinating or Investigating depending on pure chance is really annoying.  And I have to depend on Opportunity cards, which will not always supply me with what I need.  Sure the idea that clothes come alive in Polythreme is cool, but seriously I'm wasting a ton of actions and cards just to progress a tiny bit here and there.

Getting to step one of the investigating or fascinating storyline (which requires at least 12 fascinating/investigating) is your first priority, this gives you a card that gaurentees you investigating/fascinating (at a fast enough rate that you can easily get 13 if you wait for the card enough (and you can use the other cards a few times and still get to 13 if you use sparingly)).

Getting there the first time however is a pain (but don't finish the storylets off because then you need to start over)
The only real way to do it (besides wait on random luck for about a billion years), is to do a few bribes at the start+use the option to turn spare investigating/fascinating into the other, and you can use cards a few times too (should set you back ~15 echos worth of goods), it also gets more expensive as you go on, so hurry and finish bribing while its still cheap.
After you get the card options then you can use your spare actions echo grinding (since you get a 1.2 echos per action for just plain actions).

In fact, if you are planning on echo grinding, once you do get the cards, it is pretty much the best place to echo grind in the game granting ~1.6 echos per action.

However, I didn't really like the attidude and mood in Polythreme at all, after all the talk of it being some horrible eldrich place:
"IN POLYTHREME THE BED I SLEPT ON WAS A SLAVE. THE ROOM WHERE I SLEPT WAS HACKED FROM SCREAMING STONE. THE WATER I DRANK BEGGED ME TO STOP. THEY PAID ME IN COIN THAT PLOTTED MY DOWNFALL. THE MEMORIES ARE TROUBLING. THIS PLACE IS BETTER."
"But there's a brand burned into the planks; the screaming face of Polythreme."

But instead its kind of like beauty and the beast and all cutesy.

I feel bad about "improving" on the clay men stories. I feel like I've really set myself back now. :/ I hope I can fix it... ah well. Clay Men are jerks anyway.

Thinking of buying more fate, because I keep getting invited to flute street, and its fate only. T_T

Apparently people have done the math, and it turns out that the Case of the Fidgeting Writer IS worth it echo wise (after a few hundred attempts at least).
I'm not quite sure at what stage it becomes worth it, but it appears that the final stage gets ~2(!) echos per action (after subtracting cost for getting materials at 1 echo per action).

Still in the Wounds death place, it's so horrible and I can't be bothered to go on every time my cards are refreshed just to use my energy. I do have Approaching the Gates at level 10 or so now though, does it do anything paticular here?

Dang, this thread was 10 pages back o_o  Am I the only one who plays this still? 

Thanks for the advice on Polythreme, it helped a lot.  Things have picked up again, although I wish sailing didn't take quite as long as it does.  I think the sailing thing was made with the Echoing to Facebook/Twitter in mind.

I nabbed the Stone-Tentacle key and went back to Fallen London to direct an opera.  Seriously, that opera scene has to be one of the more entertaining moments I've seen so far.  Disturbing, but fun.  I'm getting close to the Marvelous, I can feel it.

I knew the Masters were sinister and up to no good, but WOW.  They're like evil genies who will grant you one small wish for the sake of love in exchange for a LOT.  Now I understand where the Cantsagar (spelling, I know) came from and why.  The story keeps getting more and more intriguing.

I'm trying to track down breedable creatures for the Tiger's Labrynth :/  I visited all the islands and didn't find a single creature to capture.  Where do I go?

There is one in the second coil of the labyrinth, a second when you are exiled in the tomb colonies, a third acquirable at sea (only when your troubled water qualities is a whopping 11) and the fourth can be got at flute street, a fate locked area involving rubbery men. 

And yeah, making deals with the masters is a bad bad idea if you don't know what your getting into.
