Today is most definitely NOT my Echo Bazaar day. I've been consistently failing at everything; I even failed a low-risk challenge! Not to mention the freaking Nightmares - Oooh, I couldn't catch a bandaged guy, I'm so god damned scared!

I did an opportunity thing and now have nightmares 4. Could somebody help me get sudden insight?

That last gobbo would stand there, missing an arm, punctured in a kidney, liver, and spleen, fading in and out of consciousness at the far end of where the drawbridge would go, and his last sight would be the drawbridge dropping down and smashing him like a bug.

God DAMN I love this game!

You still have 4 Nightmares to go until you go to the State of Confusion, and the higher levels require more points to level up, remember. You can invite me (ROFLHead) to Chess or Supper whenever and as much as you want and I'll accept ASAP though.

So I discovered hunting for relics in the forgotten quarter.
There's a luck based roll there, which I'm assuming is 50/50 even though I seem to be getting about 65/35, but I'm assuming that's just luck. You get 10 fourth city relics with every success, which are worth 5 pence each on the bazaar. So 25 pence per action on average.
Anyway, you get a small amount of watchful per try. Not as much as with a dangerous roll, but since those give me nightmares, and I have next to no chance of getting anything this strikes me as being a better investment by far.

Also, I decided to try out the private rooms of the house of chimes.

Odd, I have the option to pray at the church to lower my scandal, though they sometimes think I'm faking it, which has the opposite effect.  Kinda funny when I spend so much time consorting with devils, but I helped out a deacon a bunch awhile ago.

I accept a lot of things, though I may start rejecting those boxed cats, I'm already turning the actual cards down.  Both of the ones I've accepted had starveling cats in them.  Presumably, they're in different homes.

House of Chimes is the double-candle people only house, isn't it? What's in there?

Also, I've never seen that one before. Maybe it's because I have a higher admired/persuasive than yourself? But seriously, who does a triple-smile during a private supper? ;) And gives a beautiful diamond away :O Feel free to ask me again whenever.

What does the usage of the Appalling Secret do? Tempted to grind Watchful up high enough to use it but not sure if it's worth it or not.

It wasn't a private supper, it was a Intimate meeting, something that I presume you can get only from the house of chimes.

A talented artisan has offered to make me a fancy walking stick, but I need 5 sapphires and 5 venom-rubies for it. They're not available on the bazaar, so presumably you get them from high level stat or connection based storylets (I have found a reliable way to get diamonds). Must resist urge to check wiki...
In other news, I dealt with my own rat problem, obtaining a furry companion in the process. More delicious stat bonuses..

edit: Found an awesomely topical storylet:

I've been getting sapphires and a venom-ruby from Devil Connection cards I chose to spend a little fate on.

We don't :) imagine that, huh.

But it'd be better if you could post your twitter here, or if you want, your facebook!

Hmm, the Shroom Races are pretty fun.
My Fate has slowly dwindled down from 15 or so back down to 5. (Between one nice card and then the Shroom Races) It's been worth it so far though, soon I'll have to go back to doing surveys xD.

My only advice is to not do the Shroom races until your stats are higher than mine, everything's Almost Impossible. (Yet I've still succeed most of them. Love ya, RNG!)
