Out of curiosity what does taking a patron actually do? The option has been staring at me for a while but wasn't sure what level of interpersonal interaction it would require.

I assume that nobody have a clue, since it'd require a lot of investment in the part of the Patron to begin with.

According to a quick Google search, a patron can invite their protégé for a private lesson. Doing so costs both players an action and a Free Evening. If accepted, the protégé gains a level in a skill, while the patron Makes Waves. Seems like a pretty good deal, at least for the protégé.

As another PoSI, I somehow can't access that patron-based option anymore :< I can't invite someone else to be my patron person?

You have to be a second tier PoSI (Extraordinary Mind, Shattering Force, etc) to take on a protégé. A PoSI cannot become a protégé.

It seems a certain storyline about a name has come out of retirement. I might make an alt to play it, since I'm a bit attached to my main character.

If you have to ask what the point of it is, don't do it.

It's an intriguing story, like all of Fallen London. It's about the journey, not the end result. If you can accept that, be free and make your story a tragedy rather than a comedy.

is this fate locked?  If not, where does it start?

Somewhere along the lines, I lost track of where my life goal story went... cant seem to find the next step of the monster hunter thing anywhere.

Finally got my zub built though, and bred a hound of heaven.

There's a purpose to what I do. A throwaway isn't as rewarding with each truth revealed.

As far as I can tell, not Fate-locked. It starts with a hungry opportunity; you'll know it when you see it.

I think I'm officially done with FL. I could go spend like $40 to get enough Fate to see all the Fate locked storylines but....eh. I may pop back in for some seasonal events.

I'm curious about paths I didn't take -- specifically other ambitions.  But I dont know if I'm curious enough to start another character.

And the "Seeking the Name" business sounds apocalyptic enough, maybe it is a good capstone?

Mostly the grind puts me off, I come and go from the game with some long gaps between playing.
