I found this game just a couple of days ago, but I could use some acquaintances. My profile.

I found this game thanks to Cinder. x3 But was too shy to post my profile, and spent the previous months being silly about it, and alone in Knife and Candle [hint: I'm all for not-Baroque-or-the-direct-approach!]

I've been loving the writing, though it's a whole new experience of how descriptive one goes with grim themes--the humor and essence of the writing however has gotten me attached to it. Whoever wrote this thing...I am inspired.

Also here's my profile for those interested in acquaintances! Tiruin's Fallen London Profile! :D

Hello, raising this from the dead. Anyone still playing?

EDIT: Wait what it's been posted in today? Absolutely spooky.

Apart from nenjin I'm probably the most experienced player who is still active. I'm thinking of entering the Moon League, but I'll need someone to stab.

Also, I'm buying 3 eyeless skulls for 30 first city coins each.

I'm still endlessly grinding for the Presumptuous Opportunity Card. Been at it over a year now. I think I'm like 3 bottles shy of what I need to FINALLY go on to something else.

Feel free to message me.

You can trade things?  How?

I've got my first eyeless skull (and a hand full of stat-loss cards) but I'm grinding the glim-docks rep-supplies cycle so I can use it on that expedition.

I don't K&C, but always happy to meet other people who play altruisticly.

I can gift people 33 first city coins, and people can gift me eyeless skulls, so it's more or less a trade.

Actually I wonder if I should become an Extraodinary Mind first before I touch the Nadir.

I see the 33 coin gift option, but I dont see the skull gift option. Maybe I dont have it unlocked yet.

Just building a little more supply buffer before I can start that expedition and get rid of this thing, and un-**** my deck.

Is the skull discarded after I finish the first expedition to the Nadir cave?  If not, I'll happily trade it away to you when I'm done.  The thing is a liability, and whatever you need 3 of them for I cant imagine doing until much later.

Nope, they're used up. Also the Cave of Nadir will need 3 of them I think.

oh? it unlocks with just one.  Requirements are 1 skull, 5 archaeologist levels, 60 supplies, and 1 route.

You can trade 5 skulls for one ray drenched cinder by using it in your inventory, but I dont know what those are for.

They're for Echoes. Lots and lots of Echoes. When I still played this wretched game, I made my fortune (and got my Goat) farming Eyeless Skulls in the Forgotten Quarter and turning them into Cinders to sell. I think. Pretty sure I couldn't just sell the Skulls, anyway - or that it's a better deal to sell Cinders. It *has* been a while, so I can't recall for certain.

I also want to say there's cause to have 6 total outside of just selling the things. But again, it's been a while.

Looking at the wiki:

RDC sells for 312 (converts from 5 ES)
ES sells for 62.50 (or 30 at bazaar)

so you get equal the value by converting them.  I got one in about 4 trips to the blue shrine, each trip probably took 10 actions plus 10 actions to gain supplies, plus 9 actions to gain faction for the supplies... roughly 120 actions per skull?

2-3 echoes per action?  That seems pretty good I guess.  I dont know what the late game cash makers are.

It says you can get them on rare successes on some other actions around the forgotten quarter, but I've never seen it.

Actually, it costs 20 Rev rep to either sell them for 62.50 or swap them for a Cinder, so converting to Cinders does indeed make more sense. Plus trading for a Cinder gets you a Searing Enigma so that's +62.50 vs. the +0.5*4*5 you'd get in Incendiary Gossip by selling Skulls directly.

And I'd've never dreamed of farming them via expeditions. Ew. Ewewew. No, the way to go is Seeking Curios and Secrets in the Forgotten Quarter. You get a lot of other junk (wanna say I averaged well over 1E just from this stuff) and rare successes on several of the options are Skulls (I wanna say I would get one maybe every 70 or 80 actions? I was also getting other rare results as well, though...). The downside is Nightmares, but an occasional (all right, regular) trip to the Mirror Marches isn't all that big a deal, right???

(Although don't do this unless you've got good lodgings. Skulls are pretty miserable to keep around unless you have a lot of card slots.)

I have three skull cards in my three slots.. filled them all up just preparing for the expedition that would let me get rid of the skull.  Farming these things is not high on my list of things to do.

I was a guest at the Embassy, so I always had at least one slot free. It's a rather rarefied pastime, to say the least, but it's also a quite lucrative one. Aside from going mad in the Marches, every action is profit.

(The regular trips to the Marches take care of any Skulls in your hand, too.)
