Well, when I choose the revolutionary gift option I got some kind of gold thing that when used reduced my wounds from 6 to 5.

Insasnely. If it costs fate, I'd expect it to be at least a nice consolation prize.
Also, there are more options, but they require a knot-name or something like that. Where do you get those?

You get knot-names by sending people gifts.

I'm assuming that if you use a knot name along with a gift, you instantly get the "good" thing the gift gives out. Without the chance of getting something bad.
