While I am not yet in the mood to continue the let's play, I still have been playing the game. I've been trying to find out how some ideologies are put ingame. A Communist country becomes Democratic Socialist when a democratic non-capitalist nation directs a coup against them. I think Imperialism can happen during a civil war in a Communist nation, but I am not entirely sure.

Actually... I think it could have some ransom elements as well.

Ironic I know. Guess the new governments of the former Centralist/Communist regimes were much more willing to negotiate then their predecessors. Seems this latest Let's Play is full of ironies. Another notable irony was pulling a "Munich" back in 1990-1991 by allowing Iraq to take over half the Middle East, then couping Iraq (and their holdings) in 1992 and helping them take Iran. Now Iraq is one of my most powerful allies and they control much of the world's oil supply, making trade with them very good. Only reason Syria is not part of this is because there was a capitalist takeover shortly after I started the game.

This is VERY good. If they managed to direct a successful coup in the Soviet Union, it may turn into a democratic socialist nation, which usually causes the Soviets to rocket up to having a high quality of life, ethic, and very low police state. Which makes them a much smaller threat.

Even though they may have surrendered, I still say they won the war. With inferior technology and a far lesser number of troops, they managed to deal out MORE damage and have a higher will to fight than the US.



I'm getting the troops back. This war was a failiure.

Okay very very bad news. I did reach 1998 but found out I irreparably screwed up very early in 1997. So I ended up reverting back to New Years Day 1997. Since this is now the third time I reverted back to save, maybe it is time I took a break from being the primary Shadow President in this Let's Play. Since this is realistically supposed to be my last Presidential Term anyway, I think the time has come for an election to take place to decide who will take my place as the new President. Whoever gets elected only needs to download my Post-World War Three (non-nuclear) Scenario which is set for New Years Day 1997.

The two primary bad guys forces are the Southern Bloc (India-led Nationalist WTA) and the small but tyrannical Fundamental Islamic duo of Sudan/Oman. The Soviet Union is now under U.S. military occupation; a million US troops are stationed in the vanquished USSR while over a million are in reserve back in the states. Nearly a million more are deployed in strategic locations throughout the world. In effect, the United States has reached global power status with the India WTA being the only major, albeit a bit pathetic, challenge to U.S.A. WTA.
