Honestly from all I saw they are like the game's secret villain.

With Russia just being the most obvious one.
I noticed that. For some reason, every new year starts of with France not on my World Team Alliance despite not being a Great Power and being Capitalist. And in my Post-Apocalyptic Scenario, France is rated as Great Power and is Socialist. But for some reason, none of the Socialist countries are on the France WTA; just France. In one game, I helped Germany take over Austria, Czechoslovakia, Poland, Swizerland, The following year started off with every German-controlled country being on the U.S. WTA... except France! It seems there is a hard code which gives France isolationist programming.

I'm pretty certain that just dropping a nuke period, regardless of target or justification, immediately damages your standing in some way with every other nation in the world.

Well that sucks.  Btw, if you take over a country that's occupying another country, do you end up occupying both?

No, the country being occupied is automatically restored to full sovereignty... with the ideology that country had before it got invaded. For example, if I decided to invade South Korea and I defeated them, North Korea would be restored with both a communist government and full military strength. The only exception to this is if the ideology was the result of an auto-ideology change that is common in countries with 100% Concern of Government. When I did the nuke test on India I also invaded them. China was restored as a Communist state despite the fact they were Centralist.

Yes they do. Full strength. So one of my goals this year is to spam requests with China, discouraging military spending while they are still controlled by India. That way China can easily be defeated even quicker. Hopefully India doesn't start the Fourth World War before that goal is achieved.

I'm pretty sure France is hardcoded to be more "independent", to represent the fact that they pulled out of NATO command structure and never liked being led by the US.

Good thing they're not hard to take over, if you invade all your allies around them send in troops too :)

Is there any way to get a country you occupy to disarm their nuclear arsenal?

I am thinking that an invasion of France could potentially be another good side conflict for the Fourth World War... though you should check with your NSA advisor first to see what the French think of the United States. If France is marked as "Cooperation, friendship, or Harmony of Interest", then your Defense Secretary WILL resign if you invade them. However if they are marked as "Indifferent, Competition, Rivalry, or Emity", then it is safe to invade them. Oh and if you want to surgical strike them, be sure to save before making the strike. That way if they nuke you, you only need revert to save. And if they surgical strike you, you have justification for the invasion.

Is there any way to get a country you occupy to disarm their nuclear arsenal?
I assume you are talking about the USSR right? Well, what you need to do is spam requests to discourage nuclear spending. Since the country is under your control, you won't have to worry about them condemning you which countries tend to do for some reason when asked to discourage nuclear spending. Though I must caution you: If you do this too much, your nuclear influence for the rest of the year will be zip so if you want to encourage another country to up its nuclear spending, you should do so first. Since the Soviet Union (I assume) is under your control, their nuclear weapons are of no threat to you. Oh and let me reiterate another matter regarding the occupation: Do not do anything that can increase Quality of Life or the GNP Growth in the Soviet Union.

Yeah I took them over in my game.  Right now the two world leaders are the US and France, but I can't go into any wars without my popularity dropping to nothing.  Guess everybody is tired after I took over Russia and India  :P And thanks, guess I should stop sending the Soviets aid!

Okay, when you invade France, just remain in the War Room. If you have to leave the War Room, press "zero" to freeze the timer. That way you can select other countries and make various talks with your allies.
Also there is a trick to restore your popularity with ease. First make sure the timer is frozen by pressing "0", then select Angola (Zaire-controlled) and go into the War Room. Then you select to "adjust troops levels." However do not increase or decrease the numbers. Instead just click "Do it". It will state that Angola has approved your request to deploy troops in their country as though you were making in initial deployment. Spam this many many times and when you feel you did enough, press "1" to get the game going again. Your popularity should immediatly start raising up very very quickly as people are pleased with your "deployments" to Angola. This tactic is one thing that helped me avoid impeachment during World War III despite the fact the conflict lasted more then one year.

Oh... do you control India or does Pakistan? I think you would be better off making sure Pakistan or any of your allies in the region for that matter are the ones to control India. If you have a saved game in place from just before invading India, you could revert to it. In order to assure your ally is the one to assume control, there are two things that most happen: They must help with the invasion and they must have more troops in the region then you. It is always a good idea to have a saved game in place right before the invasion, that way if an ally you want to join you in the war doesn't do it, you can revert to save and try again.

If you already started sending aid to the Soviets, don't bother cutting it now. You could only hurt your ethics.

Okay thanks, and why should I let another country occupy India? China is Capitalist and in my team alliance btw.

EDIT: Nevermind, after the wars with India and Russia, my economy went to shit.  Military power went down to 4%, and France is now the only WTA Leader.  Gonna grant the Soviets autonomy in hopes that they will stop the French influence and buy me some time.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

My investment and foreign aid spending was destroying GNP and popularity so I put both to zero to improve both.  Defence spending just destroys popularity and GNP, and social spending helps popularity but wrecks GNP.

My country also has the largest population in the world with 516 Million people.

ANY IDEAS?

Well... not really sure. I don't even think this is based off my scenario as the date on your screenshot says 1995 while the scenario I posted was dated 1997. Be sure to save the game before granting the Soviets autonomy as I had it actually backfire on me before. Also slashing military spending as much as you did is why your military power is 4%. As for letting another country be the one to take control of India, the reason for that is because occupying too many poor countrys could hurt your Quality of Life. Occupying India or China alone seriously slahes your QofL. So it is best to have an ally be the one to take control. You still get a fair amount of "tribute" from the defeated state even if Pakistan or China is the one to take over India after you get them to surrender.
