If I had to give this game one flaw... it is that resigned/dead advisors never come back.

If I find out how to use the UGE to bring back resigned/dead advisers, I will be sure to let you and everyone here know.

Actually, I've had resigned (or was it dead? I can't remember) advisors come back. I'm pretty sure it was a glitch, but it was still cool.

Originally I thought that resigned advisors actually represent the entire department no longer supporting you.

You can still launch invasions and nukes if the DoD guy leaves, as he often does, so I imagine it's just the individual cabinet member. Plus they can die, which doesn't make sense from a departmental standpoint.

A lot of the time the true loss comes from the fact that they cannot advise you, which often means you don't know how possible a single action is.

While the President of the United States is the only man who can actually order a DEFCON 1, his Secretary of Defense must concur.

Ah well.  Do turn elections back on once you get to a safe popularity, though!  Having to please the populace adds a lot to the game.

File a complaint with NATO about the USSR's surgical strike. Try to keep war from starting.

Angel Of Death: Do file a U.S. protest. However if the country they are attacking is not on your World Team Alliance, don't do anything else. No use starting World War Three over a country which would be "at odds" with you if its ideology was a rival WTA. And don't even bother trying to get the UN involved. The USSR will just veto you. As for economic... I am not too sure if you should. However, if the USSR has MFN status with you, you could regulate trade with them for about a week or two, then give them MFN once the crisis passes.

Update on Universal Game Editor: Okay, I am now trying to figure out how to edit stuff other then Ideology, Ambition, Ethic, & Ownership statuses. Since the guy who posted the Shadow President code key for UGE has chosen to be anonymous and apparently inactive for some time, I guess it is up to us to figure out how to edit stuff. I am doing recon action as we speak with finding out which numbers do what. (obviously only changing one number at a time and always changing back as I go) Once I break a code, I will be sure to let everyone know and add it to the UGE Shadow President key.

Angel Of Death: About accidentally saying "Yes" to Castro's request to decrease nuclear spending? There is actually a small flaw in the game, at least on my end. Regardless if I say yes or no, the game acts like I said "yes" which gets annoying.
