AoD, if you still have the save file of your game, give it to me let me see how I could salvage this situation. I won't read the thread though, so that I get properly shocked at how horrible you made the game out to be, if you got impeached and are ranting about a war with the Soviet Union.

EDIT: Oh, just read that you are going to make it available. Well, I'll be interested in taking over if Tarran doesn't step up to the job.

I might take over. It depends on how interested I am in starting a Shadow President game and how busy I am with other things.

My interest is low, currently, so I won't be continuing the game/starting another yet. You can start one yourself if you want, Servant.

Actually, since I'm begining to remember how slow SP is...um, I like to retract my offer of playing SP.

I thought the idea of trying to salvage the USA would be nice, but I'd likely get bored a few months in after I put the US on the road to recovery. Oh well.

Do you know that you can press numbers to speed it up? I think "5" makes it go one day a second. The tutorial doesn't make mention of it, and I only discovered it on accident.

Will giving DOSBox more CPU cycles speed it up?

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.

I'm not sure if it will speed up the time, but I'm sure it will speed up the calculations. I.e things will load faster and windows will disappear faster.

Use the 1-5 keys to speed up time.

Also, 0 can be used to pause time.

What save do you want? The one from my first, second (second was the longest) or third one?

Yes but I have to make a C drive first, that's one of the parts that bugs me the most.  I type stuff like MOUNT C.  It then says I need to add something like Mount c d:\dosprogs ( dosprogs was the example ).  I still don't complete understand this.
I searched all the pages and... not once did I see a mention of "dosprogs".

*Sigh*

Step one: Create a folder that you would like to be your virtual C drive.
Step two: Place any DOS game in a sub-folder of that C drive.
Step three: Open the Dosbox folder.
Step four: Open dosbox.conf with a text editor.
Step five: Find "# Lines in this section will be run at startup." at the very bottom of the file.
Step six: Directly under the above line, type or copy:
mount C C:\*Location to the virtual C folder* -This informs DOSBox which folder is your virtual X drive. In this case, it's our virtual C drive.
mount D D:\ -t cdrom (or any other letter of your CD drive) -This informs DOSBox which folder is your virtual CD drive. This is not important right now, but you might as well copy it.
C: -This tells DOSBox to go to our virtual C drive.
CLS -This is completely optional: It clears the screen of the opening screen and the commands entered.

Is it clear? If not, what step isn't clear?

You assign it ten thousand CPU cycles? Dear god man, I never go above four thousand!
What's wrong with it? I highly suggest it! 3000 cycles is muuuuucccchhh slower than 10000. 10000 is about 1/2 second delay between action and loading. 3000 is about a full second. I'd imagine 4000 is similar.

Step six is somewhat confusing ( for me ).  It uses lexicon that I'm rather unfamiliar with.  Sorry for all the bother, but I really want to know how to do this.  Also, I'm not sure about what you refer to.  I believe that you're asking me to MOUNT a file, but I might be wrong.  Please, assume that I have absolutely no idea what any of you are saying ( which is actually correct in this case )  I usually try something like MOUNT C:\Shadow and that doesn't work.  The "Shadow" is the file where all the graphics, readmes and information on Shadow president are, including the .exe file itself.  Once again, sorry for the rant.

The command works like follows:
mount <drive letter> <what to mount there>

So you'd do

mount c c:\shadow
if you want to mount c:\shadow to drive letter c.

You don't have to do all of this complex stuff to run the game, you know?

Well, does it exist? If your copy of Shadow President is not at c:\shadow, then that won't work - you need to know the path of the game. My DOS-games are at c:\users\myname\dosgames so I'd type
mount c c:\users\myname\dosgames

In your Shadow President folder, make a SHORTCUT to Dosbox. All you have to do is right click Dosbox, go into your Shadow President file, right click and press "Paste Shortcut". You then drag the file named "SHADOW" into the Dosbox shortcut.

Do you mean the Dosbox folder, or the actual program?  Yeah, I guess it's the folder, I just wanna make sure.  I'll try this out.
