Tips on wages long wars:
Fighting a long drawn out war and avoiding impeachment is very tricky. Before starting a war, what you need to do is switch the map to "Filter View Window" mode, that way the game is effectively paused but you can still select countries. You then go into the war room and make war. When you exit, you should find yourself at whatever "Filter View Window" map you had selected before going in the war room. If you save as you go, then as soon as you get back into the game, IMMEDIATELY press one of the "F-number" keys at once to put the map into "Filter View Window" mode, especially if polls are below 20%. War Room "camping" has been proven to prevent impeachment. The only exception to that immunity is launching nukes at too many countries.
December 1990
December 2: Iraq invades Saudi Arabia despite US threats to use all means necessary to stop them, including the Nuclear Option.
December 3: United States implements "Massive Retaliation" against Saddam Hussein by launching ten nuclear warheads on various economic and military targets in Ba'athist Iraq. The United States and Capitalist Iran invades Iraq after more then half of Saddam's Republican Guard are vaporized. Upon US demand, Iraq surrenders. As the larger invader, Iran takes charge of Iraq.
December 12: Fallout effects the entire world in some way, though most of it clears up by 1991. All members of the USA World Team Alliance temporarily breaks away.
Rest of December: United States invades Cuba and defeats them a few days later. The United States then invades Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Nicaragua, and Bahamas, taking all of them over with ease. Apparently concerned with the US take over of several Nationalist Countries, the leaders of Poland feels that they need a very powerful ally to stop the United States in its campaign. Therefore, Poland sponsors a successful coup in the Soviet Union. The Nationalists take over the Soviet Government. China tries to stage a counter-coup in Russia but fails miserably. United States nearly triples military spending by raising it to $800.
Start of 1991:
Three World Team Alliances now exist:
USA World Team Alliance: Capitalist
Soviet World Team Alliance: Nationalist
China World Team Alliance: Communist
January 1, 1991 -- October 20, 1991: The Second Korean War
Opening Stages: United States sends South Korea an enormous aid package, mainly raising intelligence to $2,792 and military to $9,999. United States and South Korea invade North Korea. China joins North Korea. North Korea and China have over 4.2 million soldiers while the United Nations Command (USA-ROK) has a little over 832,000 soldiers. Seems bad right? However due to the enormous military spending by both UNC members, the communists suffer far more loses then the capitalists. The United States raises its troop levels to nearly a million. The total UNC forces are roughly 1.7 million. The United States is unable to use any surgical strikes since that would cause China to use the Nuclear Option.
Closing Stages: The United States deploys nearly 300,000 troops to Taiwan and increases Taiwan's intelligence aid to $1,147 and military aid to $2,195. The United States lowers US troop levels fighting in Korea to just under 700,000 in order for South Korea to have the larger invasion force. United States, Taiwan, and Hong Kong invade China with Taiwan as the larger invader. Vietnam and Laos defends China. The 2.4 million military losses that China suffered in North Korea counts toward the losses in the invasion of China. As a result their will to fight is at 0%. China surrenders upon demand. North Korea surrenders shortly after, having lost their main ally. Taiwan takes charge of China while South Korea takes charge of North Korea. After the defeat of North Korea & China, my polls go up from 0% to 30%. After several surgical strikes on Vietnam, my polls are now at 64%. Communist losses in North Korea are 3,010,000 while UNC losses are only 12,179.
Note: I had to make China surrender first. Had I gotten North Korea to surrender first, China's will to fight would have gone right back up to 100% due to Vietnam becoming the primary defender in China.
1991 Israeli-Arab War: During the Second Korean War, the United States stationed 24,000 troops in Israel plus they increased the number of troops in Egypt. The United States and Israel, in this order, invaded Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, Libya, and Sudan. Each invasion was a success. Israel as the larger invader took charge of each of the countries that were invaded.
