Actually, I planned to have China be controlled by one of my allies so as not to strain my QofL.

Give them to Korea for the sake of irony.

Sadly that is not possible as South Korea has no troops on the China border since they withdrew their troops from North Korea a couple months after the Second Korean War. AI countries always withdraw their troops gradually after conquering a territory. Some sort of bug I guess. And I don't know how to edit troops with UGE.

I'd go with "working as designed" here. They conquered a place, nobody's attacking them to take it for themselves/restore the status quo/whatever else, so why keep troops away from home?

Everyone of you are making good points so far. To whom suggested I negotiate a peace settlement, I will only back off of the USSR if I can peacefully get them to call off their invasion of Japan. I wouldn't mind input from whomever suggested I go to Defcon 1 and utilize my nuclear arsenal. As for the four who so far voted on me holding off until the Soviet Union is beaten, I have pretty much steering in the direction of focusing primarily on the Soviet Union. Still waiting for more votes to roll in before reaching a final decision.

Also my campaign against the Centralists are going well. I have finally managed to defeat Somalia, which was done by opening up a second front with an Ethiopian-U.S. invasion of Kenya. Somalia came to their aid and stretched themselves to the breaking point, expediting their defeat in both states. Sierra Leone and a couple others have been defeated as well.

None of us have ever done that. The hope is that Experiment632 will be able to get Capitalism/Dev. Capitalism/Zionism to total domination of the planet so we can see, since he's been better at this than any of us.

What happens once the whole planet is capitalist?

That is a good question. I am not even sure what will happen once there are less then six ideologies in the whole world as the status maps are keyed to show the top six. The primary goal for World War III is for the ultimate defeat of Communism and Centralism. As for Nationalism, I will likely seek peaceful co-existence despite the fact they will likely be at odds with me once India reaches superpower status. However if they do decide to take a hit at me, then they will be crushed in the Fourth War.

Thanks for your votes. I have decided to go with holding off invading China until right after I have beaten the USSR. Despite being on the losing side, the Soviets remain as belligerent as ever. The USSR launched surgical strikes on Panama and Japan. Centralism has been driven out of Latin America and much of Africa--the Chinese aren't very happy about that and have tried numerous times to assassinate me and sabotage American assets. I just invaded Cuba & Guatemala. I am now debating whether or not to invade Mexico as well despite the fact they are neither Communist nor Centralist. Biggest concern at the moment is the possibility that the Soviets might nuke Japan and/or the U.S. in the event their invasion of Japan is beaten.

The Third World War -- April 7, 1996
Lots of updates with this post. The Soviet/China World Team Alliances have lost all holdings in the Africa and the Americas, either by invasions or coups. The Soviet invasion of Japan has failed. Plans are now in place for the final invasions of the remaining Centralist states in Asia and the Pacific. Considering the possibility for a ground invasion of Mexico though a decision has not yet been reached. Right now, I am very concerned that the Soviets might avenge their defeat by launching a nuclear strike on Japan and possibly the United States.

Actually, not really. The ideology order only changes at the start of the new year. Even after the Soviet Union is beaten, Communism will appear on the map key as the second most powerful ideology for the rest of the year.

Well the good news is that despite their humiliating defeat in their thwarted invasion of Japan, the Soviets decided not to nuke Japan so nuclear war has been averted for now. Plus it seems that the USSR has been reduced from "Great Power" to "Major Power". The bad news is that the Soviet Union still has nearly 2 million troops left, thanks mainly to their deployments in the surrounding countries. Also despite the defeat of Cuba, it seems the Soviet soldiers in Cuba are still active and are numbered at 500,000+. Realistically all Soviet troops in Cuba should have been interned upon Cuba's defeat. This could be a potential problem since they could attack American interests in the Caribbean and even invade the United States itself. The Soviets have launched another surgical strike, this one against Poland. Right now I am faced with several decisions which I will depict below in the form of questions that anyone can answer in a reply:

1: Should I grant Nationalist India MFN status as a benefit of our temporary alliance against the Chinese? (By the way, India now has regional nuclear capability which means they can nuke China)
2: Now that the invasion of Japan has been stopped, should I negotiate a peace settlement with the Soviet Union or accept only unconditional surrender?
3: Should I invade Nationalist Mexico now or stick only to Communist and Centralist states? (Below are strategic stats on Mexico compared with mine)
