Iberia is a small nation that it is all that technically remains of the once grand (??) Empire-the region succeeded from the Empire almost twenty years before it's fall. They maintain extremely valuable deposits of gold and gemstones from the rich, nearly untapped Imperial mines that they liberated during their own succession. Nowadays, they maintain a vast trade network that crisscrosses the lands, and connects many of the () Kingdoms to those in the ().. Obviously, other nations covet and envy their wealth-and many of them covertly sponsor "bandit" groups to assail them across border lines. Iberia is extremely forgiving of these incursions, to an extent-they want to maintain the trade networks that, by and large keep the entirety of the () Kingdoms from starving to death and keep other Kingdoms relying on them enough so as not to view Iberia as a tempting target.

Up till now, no one has gone as far to actually anger the Iberians enough for them to utilize their massive financial resources against any one enemy-but the Iberians are quite patient, and any show of weakness or overt threat against their trade interests on a border country could very well lead to a grab for territory.

    Cleansing of the Fools: Legitimacy: Fairly High
      The Sarduk Triumvirate was founded by a trio of foul necromancers; while their political system has evolved, they retained the name and tendency towards black magic. Most of the council that governs them are descended from a massive extended family of nobles claiming descent from, among others, the founders.
      Unfortunately, and perhaps not surprisingly, there's an extremely well-known prophecy floating around, claiming that if the ruling family is still in power by an unspecified time, the apocalypse will be brought to bear. This is a problem for the city's rulers both because it's supposedly from a fairly credible source, but also simply because it's not that hard to imagine- even citizens who don't put much stock in prophecy find it easy to believe the council might accidentally murder everyone in the world somehow. The result is a kingdom experiencing a fair amount of friction, as the ruling family will do anything to remain as such.
      That said, the city's rulers are no fools, and they've been working on, amidst their normal atrocities and trying to keep the populace in line, studying the prophecy and attempting to discover if it might be true, and avert it if so. They've uncovered some interesting possibilities for how their reign might trigger a catastrophe, but nothing solid.
      One theory in particular, however, has caught most of the council's eye. One of their finest has begun to suspect that the catastrophe is real, but can be averted by sacrifice- and, as fortune would have it, a certain pack of arrogant, self-righteous fools pining for their absent, otherworldly idol and calling themselves the Helten Empire has taken note of the prophecy and wants to help avoid it. The kingdom's leadership is certainly interested, but moreover such an effort would go well with the common citizens as well, who are pretty familiar with the notion of avoiding a terrible fate by pushing someone else into it. As soon as they figure out how to defeat the Heltens without being ruined themselves, they might have a perfect solution to all of their problems.

    Destruction of The Omen: Legitimacy: Fairly High
      The Heltens are a just and righteous people, formerly ruled over by a mighty angel himself. Unfortunately, at some point in their reign they became decadent and corrupt, and in disgust their patron left them. This triggered a great upheaval, from which the Heltens emerged recommitted to their principles.
      Except, the angel did not come back. This has similarly led to conflict and unrest, and there is much speculation about why their patron has yet to return- theories have included that they no longer need his guidance now, that they're unified but no less corrupt than they were, and just about everything in between. The result is a fair obsession with the divine and a decent amount of friction in an otherwise unified kingdom.
      One theory in particular, however, has lately been gathering more and more support. The Heltens are well aware of the prophecy concerning the Sarduk- that their continued reign will spell the end of the world. Furthermore, they're generally regarded as evil and wicked regardless, for obvious reasons. This results in a rather convenient combination for some to argue that destroying the foul Sarduk empire, and thus saving the world while cleansing it of such a vile power, is their test- should they succeed in such a task, their patron will return and usher in a new golden age. This theory fits well with both those obsessed with the divine, and those more concerned with doing good for its own sake, and is thus a very popular notion. Just about the only thing keeping them from declaring war immediately is the need to prepare and plan to figure out how to defeat them without being brought to ruin themselves- the Sarduk are about evenly matched, and like them are girding themselves further for war.

The Province of Kobland, located in () is unsually infested with a large number of Kobold tribes-who claimed the area because no one else would live here. They generally squabble amongst themselves in easy times, and are barely ruled by a council of Shamans who try to keep the peace-the true power lies in the Clan Chiefs, always scheming and conniving to achieve power over their rivals. Most people don't really care what happens-they just avoid it when they can, since the Kobolds are viciously territorial. Unfourtunately, the Kobolds regularly go through spasms of random violence against their neighbors, through either power grabs or a mere lack of food-during the Summer and Winter most often, Kobold hordes will overtake in massive pillaging of neighboring countries smaller towns for food and "shinies".

Some people just ask why no one just wades in and slaughters them all...but there's a good reason. The land is both expansive and difficult to manuver troops in, with barely anything worth claiming in the way of good land and loot. The vicious resistance and ability of the Kobolds to quickly unite against shared threats has quickly shown invaders that any victory would be costly and unprofitable-it helps thet Koblanders only bother to pilfer small border towns, so the Kings can safely ignore them as well.

Hiatar is a dusty, dry country where many people can be said to visit, but few stay for long. It's a closed, secretive country, that is more interested in it's own internal matters, than the outside world. They are unique in the world that they have a limited constitution that guantees certain rights to citizens of Hiatar, and instead of a singler ruler, the majority of the cities rule via a Republic Government. There are still princes and princesses, but they have little innate noble power as those in other kingdoms would-instead, they have to rally and lead their people by example. It would probably be inspiring if the Hiat told anyone else about it.

As a people, they are non-aggressive, more due to to the fact that their borders are constantly assualted by monsters than an innate want for peace. Hiat soldiers are known to be some of the most deadly anywhere-especially with the scimitar and crossbow-and are very experienced in dealing with inhuman, monstrous threats.

It's a little known fact that the Caliphate of Hiatar was ravaged by dragon attacks almost a thousand years ago-and the Dragon is no less than the image of the Devil in this land even to this day. Simply put, Hiat are taught from birth to hate Dragons and all their ilk. Hiat Hunters prowl in all lands near and far, looking to slaughter their ancient Draconic enemies and bring trophies back to the "Temple of Great Sin"-a stark ivory monument, housing a collection of hundreds of stuffed Dragon heads collected from around the world.

Perhaps the only thing that could rouse the usually cautious people of the Caliphate of Hiatar to action against their neighbors would be rumors of "Dragonfriends"-those who willing work alongside Dragons for profit...

     The city of Sharoon is an extreemley powerful city, because of the huge number of mages compared to mundane citizens.  This city is extreemley mercinary, they will use theier magical powers for anyone who is willing to pay the exorbidant prices.  They live on an island city and keep a small amount of farmland arround the island, however most of thier necesities are purchased by spending the Ffunds that others pay them to fight wars, or use thier maics for whatever reasons. Failing to pay the bill they present to you is a bad idea, as the country of X is no doubt realising right now, for not paying it straight away, Sharoon's council added another zero to the price and told X that if they didnt have this amount in a month, Sharoon was going to take it by force.

Y is in a much more ususal problem with Sharoon, sharoon has been hired to fight Y, and while they are exreemley mercinary, they tend to stay bought for the period, Y has untill Z's forces arrive at thier borders to find something to stop Sharoon, if this is possible it is likely because Z does not have enough funds to pay Sharoon

 The combined lands of Othem were formed after a major string of religious riots several centuries ago. They pride themselves on being complete atheists. Missionaries are killed on sight. The Othemists have made a few strides in technology as a result of the increased manpower and free time. All lands that have problems report them through through increasing layers of delegated power, until only the most important decisions are handled by the High council. They view anyone with beliefs in higher powers with contempt, stating "There is no destiny for us. There is no mercy There is no justice. There are no gods. Only we and the earth and what we make of it truly matter. Anyone who believes otherwise is a fool."

The land itself is slightly mountainous, with a volcano to the west, and an ocean to the south.

Well I hope that didn't turn out horrifically.

The crumbling ruins and terraced pyramids of the Solari Empire can still be glimpsed occasionally, as you pass by...and, if you should think about taking a peek-and perhaps pillaging what you can find, you had best be prepared to deal the Solari.

The stout warriors of the Federation of Solari have long protected the tombs and ruins of their forbears-and for good reason. In ancient times, the Solari were an Empire, and it was they who first discovered the power of Elemental and Arcane magic. The destruction and death they caused scarred the world, permanently, and their reign turned out to be short and bloody. The Empire was in time, destroyed by the very magics it had developed, turned against it.

The remnants that live there today are an aggressively defensive people, almost all of them warriors of some sort, ruled by suspicion of outsiders first and foremost...and a need to absolve the sins of the past more than anything. Anyone caught trespassing or looting is obviously killed, quickly and brutally. The secrets of the Tombs will never be known as long as the Solari Federation maintains the eternal vigil to keep it's ancestors powers from harming the world...and to keep the abuse of magic to a minimum.

Solari Warriors tend to wear light bronze armor and wield maces-they also use a sort of ancestral battle magic that relies on the Sun for it's power-empowering themselves with flaming blows, turning into living infernos, and slaying their enemies with beams of concentrated sunlight. Attacking them at Night is probably smart, but there is a subset of the warrior cast who call themselves "Lunari" are have dedicated themselves to draw power from the light of the Moon...best to attack them when it's cloudy, then.

If the Solari can be said to have a specialty aside from killing everything that moves, it's killing Magic Users most of all. Solari willingly subject their bodies to constant magical attack, to build immunity to hostile enemy enchantments-combined with the gleaned knowledge of the fundementals of Magic from their forbears, they have been able to specialize weapons and enchantments of all sorts to defend against and destroy those who rely on magic-or, those beings such as Dragons that are inherently magic, to a degree.

Solari Warriors are typically Women, but not always. A Warrior who manages to master an Ancient Solari Battle feat is given the honor of adding it to his or her name-there are at least 2000 such of these, and it takes a lifetime of experience to master just one. Needless to say, you don't want them to use it on you...
