I also like strangling particularly worthy foes into asphyxiation!

This kinda makes me miss one thing about 40d: Being able to crush airways.

I've got my fingers crossed for full blown body slams and aimed people tossing come the combat re-write. I get the feeling I'll start to REALLY like wells.

I read with particular interest the part about "parabolic arcs" recently in the devlog.

Toady typically doesn't do things by half measures.  As evidenced by turning "make hauling work better" into "implement mine carts with physics".
There are many issues with this statement.

Does throwing meat cleavers count as unarmed? Or corpses? Because if so then almost always.

Would parabolic arcs allow throwing meat cleavers and/or human bodies at enemies below you?
I could have some fun with that...

Cleavers are obviously a weapon, and I don't even know how you'd think it could possibly be unarmed. Unarmed is using your body as weapon, and I think using other peoples bodies as a weapon just about counts.

Since I don't really have a far and developed character, I typically tend to fight animals mostly. Either way though, I still use wrestling.

Typically, if I can chase after the darn critter long enough to get close to it, I'll usually strike it. If it's staying to keep fighting, I'll usually grab it by the throat/head, or anywhere else with a free hand, and throw it to the ground. While it's down and stunned, I start beating up the darn thing, or begin pinching off facial features. When I realize that gouging out both eyes, pinching off the nose, teeth, and ears doesn't really kill it, I usually switch to a choke-hold, make it pass out, then stab/headkick the darn thing.

Then I butcher said creature, eat it's meat, maybe throw a few limbs/parts, and say I'm painting. :D

I usually will jump straight to strangling it sometimes.

Also, for future reference, never fight a Sea Otter in a murky pool. The darn thing made me pass out! (I got lucky. I passed out just as I finally managed to climb out of the water. Another second sooner, and I might have drowned.)

Then, when you've walked a mile and start to criticize him, he has to run a mile after you in his socks.

And for that matter, never engage a Giraffe in unarmed combat. Or try to strangle it. Especially the strangling part.

I normally break both my enemy's wrist then i steal the weapons throw them back at the disarmed enemy and proceed to choke the remaining enemys into vomiting unconscious bodies.
