Training Weapons on Arena Victims

I heard it's good for training. However, what if the recruits get attached to the training weapons after awhile?

I'm pretty sure that reclaiming them and forcing them to change to another weapon would work.

Huh. I thought when your dwarf gets attached, nothing will separate them from it?

A 15+ z-level fall will seperate most things from a dwarf, no matter how fond they are of it.

Helpful, no?

Removing the item from their equipment setup will always make them drop it. They will try and pick it up again but you can stop them by forbidding it.

I've had best luck with designating the training weapon for dump if a dwarf gets attached.  In fact, I've had perfect luck with that method.  Won't work for artifact styrofoam training maces though.

He he he.  Yeah, it almost looks done...  alas...  those who are in your teens, hold on until your twenties...  those in your twenties, your thirties...  others, cling to life as you are able...<P>It should be pretty fun though.

So, the specific question is:

How do you make a dwarf drop and not pick up a wooden training weapon that they have become attached to? With the conditions that:

The dwarf is alive at the end of the process.
The training weapon doesn't become a !!training weapon!!.
The dwarf still has both arms, hands and other parts attached.
The dwarf will not bleed to death shortly afterwards.
The weapon is recoverable.
Nothing gets atom-smashed in the process.
Nerve damage is not an applicable option.
Syndromes can not be indescrimately applied.
Nothing amusing or fun really happens?

So why did you ask this question in the first place really?
