The frequent crashing seems to be new to the latest patch. I crash every hour or two now, compared to once a day previously.

I've noticed I get serious lagging issues build up too now. FPS goes to shit in some dungeons.

[Temp Fix: Alt-tab out of your game. Alt tab back in once to get it to open, wait a moment, then alt tab it again to get it to play].

Make sure to Wait a moment, otherwise it crashes your Windows Explorer.

You guys crash? I haven't crashed once. Huh... do you get any error message? Does it happen when something is going on ingame?

I get a lot of crash-to-desktop without any sort of error message. It happens apparently at random. As a frequent saver these are mostly just nuisances though.

Where do you find new spells? The college only has the lowest-level spells available.

I'm not sure when the spells become available but the College Masters sell books up to Expert tier normally. After around 80 skill or so you'll get an option from them to pursue a quest which gives a Master spell and unlocks more books from the teacher.

I get a crash maybe two or three times a day. Usually right after changing an area, or when trying to exit the game normally. Error messages are exceedingly rare, but at least the game doesn't hang around on your system after it crashes. It just GTFO.

Hey guys what do you advice about the werewolf thing?
i am just at this point in the Companion quest line to become one and i have my doubts. i mean i know that theres a ring that can grant you such ability even when not being a werewolf.

Question on black souls and the rest.

Which are better/easier to come by? I remember black souls being as good as the best souls in Oblivion, but in skyrim? And I presume its easier to come across bandits than animals who have good souls.

Why I ask: Azuras Star choice. And why do the friggin dudes in it have to be immune to fire?!

About that, i decided to take the regular Azura Star. I've always liked Azura, and it didn't feel right to cut the star from her and turn it into a necromantic tool.

Sure, it'd have made my life easier since black souls have the same power as Grand souls for enchanting, but at the same time it also means that i can recharge my weapons on the fly from a wider range of creatures without carrying and using up regular soul gems.
Also, the game is easy enough, i feel that the Black Star would make enchantment too easy. Though i kinda feel like a poacher now, because the only Grand souls i've found so far are those of mammoths. But at least, finding and hunting mammoths is more of a challenge than killing bandits. Also you get the Azura priestess as a follower choice if you go this way (I don't use followers but you might). And honestly, the dropout mage in the Frozen Hearth inn, definitely doesnt feel like the right choice to me.

I'm a werewolf, I haven't completed any more of the quests though.  The beast form seems good for moving around quickly but I haven't bothered trying to use it in actual combat, I have "Oh shit" buttons, beast form just seems to be another one.  Only downside seems to be that you can't get rested bonus for sleeping.  And the occasional guard comment about how you smell like wet dog or have fur growing from your ears. 

Might be handy for stealth or mage types since it is most definitely good for close range rockfest.  But my character is already a close range rockfest, so it seems redundant to me.

Oh and whenever you use beast form you will need to re-equip all your gear, but that's just an annoyance.  It would probably be a problem if you hadn't killed what you were fighting yet, but way I figure it, if it takes you more than the two minutes to kill whatever it is you are fighting(even longer if they are human and you feed to extend it) you are probably doing something wrong.

Seriously, the quest line basically forces you to become one? You should at least be able to talk to the old guy who's trying to cure his lycanthropy, and dob 'em in. Certainly a bit more realistic than them standing there in that chamber for weeks, which is what they've been doing in my game.

Agreed.  I continued because I was pretty sure there'd be a cure later.  Never used the beast form power at all.

I know i won't become a werewolf, even if there are almost only benefits, it doesn't fit in how i see my character. I'm the Dragonborn, not the Wolfborn ! Besides, i like vampires more, but i don't like how they are depicted in the TES games, so i'll stay away from that too.

Vampires:
Step into town. Hunted.
Step outside. Burned.
Fast-travel to-. Burned.

The only way to avoid the above, is to drink people's blood when they sleep, which strips you of your powers...

...So basically, keep out of towns, and only travel in the dark at night to be a vampire. Else, be normal?

^ Why I hate being being a vampire in Skyrim. I basically have to be a normal person to sell things, talk to people, do quests.
