Am I the only one who when I first heard the word "Pseudointellectual" spoken, had my brain instantly translate it to "Super user do intellectual"?

I have a question; how do you know you're not a "pseudointellectual"?

You're smart, you read a lot of stuff, you go into debates... but what if you're doing it all wrong?!
What if you only thought you were smart, you read a lot of stuff you didn't really understand, and none of your arguments really made any sense to anyone but yourself; and then you pat yourself on the back for being smarter than the rest.

Loved one shaking you from the shoulders and shouting: "Get a hold of yourself!" would be a rather good indicator, but other than that...

I think I fall into both catagories depending on the situation
School/Work/Job Interviews- Im a pseudo intelectual( I'm trying to impress for a reward- money, grades, a job)
Any other situation: I still use "big words", but thats only because I know them. Im fine with admitting I don't know much about something. I do enjoy reading about things I'll never use or need to know about, how to play D&D or some old videogame.

"the more you know, the less you know". Realizing, accepting and admitting a gap in your knowledge would seem to exclude you from the pseudo-intellectuals. Real intellectuals never think they know everything about any topic, there's always more to learn.

Don't sweat whether you're "pseudo" or not because nobody can define exactly what that means.

The closest synonyms to common usage seem to be hipster or poseur.

It's actually a sign of pseudo-intellectualism to have a raging debate over word definitions. Real intellectuals realize that words are only vessels to convey meaning. There's no "true" meaning attached to any word itself. It's actually very shallow to attack a person's position solely due to them using a word wrongly, rather than to ascertain what they really meant, though if they make a habit of it, or their argument is based on mis-using words, that's fair game.
