My Ligorian legion should be able to win, taking into account the fact that it will make everyone else obsolete and there are no good gunpowder weapons developed yet.

It won't make Guerrilla warfare obsolete...if soldiers are kept in phalanx they would be incredibly easy to bomb and to be shot down or to be trapped even.
Although it might work against some of the bigger armies.

Indeed. If you go with these changes, Ligoria's army will be one of the strongest in large, open battles, but you will get absolutely destroyed if your troops do not stay together in great forces.

Well, i'm thinking field armies since i'm a general. And don't be silly, no one fields phalanx against guerilla. And they shouldn't be able to have gunpowder yet!

The infantry use shields like the romans did. Not to mention the equipment is already standardized, considering the queen pays for it all...

Dragoons are no good. Horses and trainig are more expensive and take more time. Besides we are talking early gunpowder weapons,late 1400s' -early 1500s' and such.

And dragoons are only supplementary. You need line infantry.

Because a sane general takes phalanx into a forest or a valley. Don't be silly. And don't expect for everyone to suddenly pull out grenades and bombs out of their asses, gunpowder isn't that widespread yet. Especialy among the peasants or ragtag guerilla.

And I don't see any MOUNTAINS in the Storm COAST. You guys keep making up scenarios that aren't likely to happen.

A cannon or bombard from early 16th century isn't going to shoot further than 150-200 yards and that is a strech.
