Yup. I mentioned that in the post. Buying the service of a free smuggler is foolish, better indeed to just buy new ships. Although I doubt you could buy four, given that sailors aren't free.

Ships cost manpower same as regiments.

Anyone complaining they didnt get coin when they started - Anyone with a regiment, they had been paid for the year already (1+1d right there). Starting now as a merchant would equal starting coin and a debt to the ship crew, or paid crew and a debt to a guild (Vasir always needs new merchant fyi )

Filius: 1 untrained regiment vs a ship's crew...on the ship? you're looking at a -1 difficulty to combat. Odds would be good a captain asking 4d for the year has at least Raider...meaning if you lost the fight, you'd be sold as slaves

But honestly, instead of waiting for things to move along and invent themselves I will push things forward a bit. I expect that with a little army that Ligoria has I should be able to bring everything within our peninsula under Laythe and give them folks from Dragon Empire a proper bashing. I got pretty good command stats after all. The expansion is slow and there is too much dancing around with these little nobles. They are pitiful. We should be able to seize them. The neighbouring countries seem very defensive and isolationist,and as long as they aren't pushed too hard they should retreat into their shells.

Just ask, Avitus will be glad to oblige an negotiate with the other states on a joint force to crush the advancing army - and when retreating after a job well done, taking out salary in the form of all those unclaimed lands. What could go wrong with such a smooth plan, right?

Mostly true. I took my ship in a duel basically. The crew was split 50/50 and weren't overly concerned either way. A duel was a better shot in my favor honestly. Several rolls compared to 1 combat/tactics roll
