Am I seeing it right or is there a plot to remove Laythe from the throne being organised?

I'm way behind on these things, but my character does not have a lot to do. I guess i could think of bonuses that I could have.

[spoiler]Ivör used to be a librarian, while he was sorting all the books a small parchment fell out of one. The parchment had strange writings on it. For some reason it all seemed to make sense. He spoke out the words and felt a weird energy flowing through his body. His hands begun to glow blue, and in front of him a staff appeared.

A staff of magic, this staff could store enormous amounts of magic thus making it a powerful and dangerous tool.

He then decided to find out more about who made that scroll. Checking out the book cover, he found that it was from a faraway land…

Now some years later, his quest ended up in bringing him here, His power stone pulsating, indicating a strong source of magic in this land.

Are the two items okay?

It would not have an impact on my character either way, since he would not know. If the queen starts organising the regiments then I cold draft some plans and prepare a show of force to bully the unaligned lands into the kingdom.

I'd say to charge the power stone you have to do something like kill another human to charge it and as for the staff it requires charging with the power stone once every two seasons or so to grant that ability, that'd seem fair to me.

If you plan to use magic then i sincirely hope you got the rules nailed down and know what are you doing. Otherwise its no-go.

Oh and i'm pretty sure that guard disconnected the grappling hook I was climbing on.
Becuase that man had a whole glider under his outfit, plus a painting and it didn't even shift for him, and William is the same weight or less.

What if to charge the power stone i have to consume a soul(any creature) the stronger the soul the better effect the magic has.
(like fireball after a rat would be a tiny little ball barely capable of lighting dry paper, and a hatcuri might send a huge one capable of destroying a cabin. Oh and a spirit from the aether...)

the staff has to be charged by the stone is good. But what creature should be minimum?

A stone that lets you pre-prepare the power stage, and a +1 to magic staff?

Well, no. Sorry. You can have whatever background and nature of magic you want, but basically you have to follow the same rules, and risk the same risks, as everyone else. Those two items would make things too easy.

What you can have is that the power stone allows you to pre-charge a (+1?) bonus to the power-stage roll, and the staff allows you to pre-charge a (+1?) bonus to the casting-stage roll. Charging either of these items would require a stabilised source of magical power, and would take up (half a season?) of time.

Why. Why must he use blood magic? He could, if he wanted to, but any source of power should be work.
