The problem with magicians is... Their powers are dangerous. If you roll to light a torch, you might burn to death. So, magicians are kinda hard to play.

Hey, no need to let the possibility of dying horribly (but in a glorious display of pyrotechnics) stop you. 

Also, been reading through the original YaK thread while waiting for Nuke to post. d'Avistral is a glorious bastard, and I can't help but root for Trubaldsome, just 'cause he's so much fun to read about. 

Fakeedit: A whole century has passed between the two games, and this one takes place much farther northeast than the last- as far as I know, the current attitude towards magicians in the Storm Coast is undecided.

Could some more come and say wether they like or dislike magicians?
I need to know if i will be able to do something without being hunted.

Magic is hated throughout the world, basically. If you play a magician, you will be dealing with a lot of hatred. Also, yes. Magic has not been balanced, is very dangerous, and quite complicated. If you really want to play a magician, you will have to put in a fair amount of effort.

Finally i can use a pc, now how descriptive should my character be?

Well, the more descriptive, the better. A four page essay may be a little over the top, though. Basically, a few paragraphs including who they are, what they do, and what they want should be enough. Also what resources (if any) you want to start with.

Ah, thought it was about time for a magician, if my mechanic gets out of their current situation and gets some money together I might very well hire you at some point... I'm a mechanic who was forcibly removed from the hactur temple where she was studying magic, really want a golem army now

While magic is really hard, it's also really epic. If you know how to use it wisely (and if you are lucky) one spell can change the course of a battle.
