Thatkid, I'm still okay with you making me a Duke, what I wanted was for Knave to have a chance to discredit me. His words should have some weight. He is a fairly favored noble. As am I, but the issue there was both our words should be more or less trusted without outside evidence. My acts (admitted to and confirmed by the Grand Master) should at the very least give King Erik pause. This will give the Grand Master more time to either secure Preston for himself (in popular opinion) or damage my new dukedom.

Also I fully expect you to make me a Duke. -And- I expect Knave to place Preston into a position that will cripple my ability to 'scheme and plot' my 'ambition.'

Also, what does the monopoly grant you? Is it a steady income  of x ducats per year or is it an exclusive right to deal in a certain sector or good? Because if guild demands exclusive rights to financial sector, that means that they control all the moneyt exchange and credit dealing in the given city/country, right?

E: Silly me, just went over the rules. I know what monopoly does now. But another thing, does the +3 competiton roll include trading abroad or is it only within the borders of the given kingdom that grants you monopoly?

Monopolies give bonuses to businesses competing for control of the industry markets.  Trading is not affected.

Edit:  A reminder to Ardas and anyone else - unless they are especially extensive or there is an element of competition, travel checks only involving yourself succeed automatically.  So I'll rule you hire passage on the next fast ship heading to Preston and get there in a week.  You can always leave/send instructions to your cargo ships in Vasir.
