Then how about a four plus to fighting, to make seperate it from the heavy beserkers, but that might make them too unstoppable...adding a one regiment allowance might even it out however...

I know that was 2/3, i just simplified it. For easy use within the system.
How about that +4 only applies on the offence against infantry?

Yes. That'll level it out or something.
I also demand a check that the Ztah raiders could make something like a miniture crossbow...

Goods Increment Sheet

Merchant Adventures System

Whilst trade-based businesses at ports and markets represent smaller commercial ventures, the most lucrative ventures are the cross-continental caravans and trade ships that move goods between provinces.  These voyages are typically fraught with danger but can yield vast rewards for the wily entrepeneur.

In its simplest form, a Merchant Adventure consists of three steps; buying goods at a port or market, transporting them to the point of sale and then selling them there.  Like many systems, this is simple to start in but difficult to master.  The price of goods is affected by supply, demand, legality and a certain amount of luck.  Transport must be rented or one's own vessels built and risked on the seas or roads.  Pirates and bandits are an eternal threat.  Worse, perhaps, than any of these is the threat of one's own creditors.

They can have shortbows, normal crossbows (imported) or throwing knives.  I suppose it's feasible that Zacmar could have bought one, but all it's getting him is the free ranged shot at the start of combat (and I should really put some rules in to limit everyone just saying "okay I start with a gun bow then, gimme a free shot" - suggestions for that are welcome), and that only if he succeeds.  Otherwise he's going to be fighting unarmed and quite frankly he's an NPC.  He doesn't get the bonuses a PC does.

This won't affect what happens in game but what are my chances of victory?

Even.  Unspecialised infantry unit vs unspecialised infantry unit.  Expect to be captured if you lose, banished if you win.

Wiki People:  I've set up some basic provinces and a province template.  If anybody is feeling in a really helpful mood, it would help if they updated the province statistics such as Trade and Urban Potential.  I'll likely have to do a lot of that myself, though.

That said, time I got working on that post.  Can't believe that took me four hours to write up.

Edit:  Dear lord.  I have got to do some serious book-keeping at some point with the provinces.  I'm pretty sure I've let manpower amounts get completely out of control.

My brain just started bleeding... and christ that is a good way to get money. That can raise seven regiments, if you have the land.

..Well, That kind of took off. Me and Cyber were discussing that last night before he sent it off to you..And it became epic. We could run a game on that alone!

Furthermore, Damnit Cyber. I wanted more results today and you're sucking up his time.
Technically it can raise seven regiments..If you have the manpower. Not the land sir. The manpower. And i'm sure manpower can be bought.

Your load of goods is getting retconned to grain or something similar (breaking my normal no-retcon rule) for the very simple reason that it would be horribly unfair for you to make 12 Ducats of raw profit on a Luxuries sale with goods you looted before the system change whilst Hans only got 1 overall.  Since my choices are either to buff Hans or nerf your loot... I'm one of those game balancers that will nerf by default because it's easier to correct a nerf than a buff.

Just ask Blizzard.

Considering a rule addition that lets you raid 1 unit of manpower instead of ducats from land (i.e. press-ganging people).  Doesn't allow you to create manpower, which is deliberately limited, but lets landless folks obtain fresh troops.  The only way to 'create' manpower is through personal guards.

Started on the turn post, about halfway through.  Have the result for the battle between Sir Joseph and the Palace Guard as well.

All acceptable, and i didnt expect more than 5 from my loot anyway. Covers my upkeep at the season's end. Cause dear god did i shoot myself in the foot on THAT front. Which is also why i was going to give the Sloop to Adwarf.

You cant be too hurt about it man, look at the cost of that ship (warship, oars, sea raider) 3 ducats for that ship compared to your 1. True theres a 2.5 upkeep, but mines more painful for upkeep.  (slightly)

Either way, i'll need pirates on my good side, and myself on theirs. My pirate/merchant empire and future plans known only to Terenos so far will require a bit of finesse and cooperation on all sides. Piracy is a fact of life on the high seas, kept to a minimal it keeps economies booming, Trade Guilds fat and happy and so long as we don't get greedy - we'll never pull the ire of the Royal Navy

Uff.  I've missed some people, I know I have, but not sure which ones.  I can deal with those on the morrow.

I will probably rebalance some of those increments and nerf them a little, or maybe some of the allowances for how much and what you can buy from a province.  I may actually have to seriously buff the increments on some of the low-value, bulky goods to make their prices more volatile (and thus worth transporting in large amounts) and reduce the increments on luxury goods.  Right now it's too easy to buy luxuries at 2.5d from a war-torn state and sell them on at 13 Ducats in a prosperous one.  Which whilst that's more or less what I want I could do with trimming that gap a touch.

Edit: Which specific story about Preston?
