On a less serious note, while I was out today I had the greatest/stupidest/most insignificant idea ever. You are CEO! In a future where corporate warfare is literal, many of the mechanics would still work. Money today is sometimes referred to as ducats, Raiders could still raid rival corporations and steal money from their vaults, spies could exchange corporate secrets. Just a random thought I had, I doubt anything will ever come of it. I just thought I'd throw it out there. ^^^

A few changes to trade!

Some recruiting changes!
-IE Heavy upgrades require Iron, Cavalry reqs horses, Lumber for Achers (beyond the simple requirement of access)
--1 unit of good per upgrade
--Possible advantage to this system is that a unit of iron spent to upgrade to heavy, should the regiment die, can be shifted to another unit (provided you wont the engagement) allowing salvaging of the battlefield. At which point the transfer would then only require the ducats, for training

Agriculture-esque research:
-Base kingdom tech, increases to taxes and manpower

improvements to land tax should top out at around 4-5d per parcel...
-possibly a manpower levy of an extra 10-25% per rank as well...starts out only helping the king, but even at 50% it gives 3 units per 4 parcels instead of 2
--we're at 2per now, 20%/rnk is only .4/rnk gain

A kingdom requires Military Technology III to be allowed to research Plate Armor
-BUT that would also give research access to other rank 3 techs, like Archery III

The advantage here is that if/when we have multiple 'kings' floating around - they'd be able to trade techs as well: You dont need Military 3 to USE plate technology

Moun Tech ideas:
-They have no real military because their civilian city guard is all trained? may x per y population effective regiments for defense only
--death of regiments causes a loss of 1 pop/per regiment lost for 2seasons

Infrastructure:
-Base Kingdom tech, allows for building types

IE: Ligorian Arena: buildings like the arena would likely be research on their own, which given the proposed changes to the trade system, would have been a nice +1 pop happiness per unit of slaves dumped into it


Bureaucracy:
-Base Kingdom tech, increasing trade/pop taxes.
--base trade taxes cannot exceed 5%? * rank...also increases taxes gained by population and markets/ports by 10%*rank

just like skills it'll be 100*rank to obtain in research points

d6 per university size RP gains per season...1 specialist needed per size to operate

Timeline for implementation of most changes? Lets say spring 417a. Seems like an attainable point as the remainder of the year will likely be a lot of dull storyline and prepwork for shit to hit the fan in the coming year (ie. Ligoria isnt the only nation having internal fights)

CG, got two things to say: great that we have research now, we can work on our economy.
One query that remains unanswered: what of gunpowder weaponry?
If we were to build a cannon foundry in Ligoria, how would artillery work? It works as a siege weapon, but can be also mounted on defences or used as field artillery. I bet that we also would require some research, but that is not a problem either.

BTW, I think seasaon change is in order. The gang thing ain't getting reslved now, and I don't think anyone has anythig important running now.

Siege weapons in general need a rebalance because as it stands, 3d negates a castle advantage

Gunpowder siege will have increased bonuses over regular, but to do that the bonuses made from defensive structures need to be increased dramatically - which is both logical and simple to do

We shouldn't keep getting punished with early season changes because you guys are too lazy to come up with secondary and/or tertiary goals.
