Yeah, something basic like personal pistols and small hand cannons. Kind of a prototype tercio, but nowhere at the level that I'm planning.
Again, I'm planning to mix guns, pikes and swords in one and give them Roman discipline: honouring the standards and banners, unflinching loyalty to officers, always in fromation and the works.
In real life the renaissance commanders did kind of the same thing with early modern regular armies.

Fair enough. I also assume that hand cannons would be a +1 Str and fear causing too...

Hand-cannons would just cause fear, no strength bonus. And you'd need a significant part of the regiment to be equipped with them for that to apply. A few guns are scary, but only a large volley is scary enough to make entire armies turn tail and flee.

Speaking of Ardas's military reforms, um, should that be a research project? Was there some new plan for how to do researchy-things, or does the old system still apply?
Seems like developing a system for a certain type of unit would lower the cost/increase the efficiency of said unit type.

Actually, I think he's doing a basic set of military reforms first. But that's just me...

Well, yes. But the core of the reforms, or at least the first tangible reward from them, is the creation of the Ligorian Legion type of regiment.
