You know, if the queen was into letting in nobles on some power in exchange for allegiance, like formation of a noble council or a senate, then expansion of the kingdom northwards would not take so abysmally long. Well, the feeling that I have is that Laythe is a bizarre cross between Cathrenie the Great and Joanne d'Arc.
