What? you think you don't pay upkeep for your troops and sailors?! Also Karafs if he is being payed as a general, otherwise you only have to sell off one ship or regiment. But still, troops aren't free to keep once you're recruited them.

And Veto on the Hatcur empire paying for all of this. Very unfair on everyone else.

But yeah, I wasn't really paying attention to that...And no Karafs isn't a general. I'll just sell off one ship.

I'm not convinced about it. Considering the logistics and travelling involved.

That's the point, there would be need of a trip back to Hatcur, convince the Emperor and court that my Expedition is worth the time, and bring back the gold safely. And make sure to pay back the debts...Before I get killed by the Royal Assassin Corps of Kylos (RACK). Course that would take years to finish.

There's also the risk of piracy, storms, and simply greed. But yeah, could be overpowering.

If the Hactur Empire starts doing that sort of thing, the Storm Coast Hivemind will be very annoyed with it.

If you want to receive major support from them, make it enough support to survive an all out war against you.

Actually it's just going to be bans on nobles having heavy or cavalry units. Disciplined archers and such aren't out of the question. Having three personal guard units won't be out of the question but that'll probably be the limit to any private army.

Let's say someone upgraded his personal guard to heavy infantry and nobody told him it wasn't ok, a while back. What would happen to the someone in that case?

Also, why heavy infantry?

Anything that boosts a unit's overall (Or base) strength would be banned to keep a limit to the nobles power.

EDIT: And anyone that had such a unit before the legislation would be compensated financially for their loss

So your plan is to have the royal army and a few cheap units from the nobles to do your wars?

I am so not helping you if anybody attacks us (I wouldn't be useful anyway since I would only have a few cheap, useless units). You will have to find a balance between 'Limiting the nobles power' and 'Defending the country'.

Also, can I switch the Heavy Infantry upgrade for something else? Since I didn't know it was actually illegal? EDIT: thank you.

I'm not going to assist eithier, and I came up with a brilliant crossbow design and an efficent way to use them[crossbowmen] as offensive troops.

It's just upgrades that give a solid, non-situational (AKA Straight up +1 upgrades like cavalry and heavy) bonus. Archers, berzerkers, ambush are all still legal.
