Send a guard to: 1) Retrieve a list of foreign diplomats staying in Talama 2) Try and gather information on said diplomats and the most powerful nobles of the Kingdom.

Do I have to wait for someone to roll anything, or can I just assume that my guard got the names of Rectyl and that diplomat from Shola, and of the other nobles (William and Kathos)?

I only need a war or two to start working on real projects. For now, Kathos will look naive and honorable, and nobody will backstab him just because. But when the wars start... You'll see. Taricus, when do we invade something?

Also, can I make my life easier and give two Heavy Infantry upgrades to my unit? Like normally they are normal soldiers in boiled leather armor, first upgrade they have chainmail and good equipment, second upgrade they are pretty much as good as knights?

Also, you might not want to do that (If it's allowed), the queen has a bit of legistature that will have repercussions for you if you do.

Well, if I only keep one personal guard in times of peace, is it going to be ok? I don't want to keep an army outside of my estate, only one unit to make sure nobody goes 'Oh well that guy isn't looking strong let's plunder his estate and kill him while we're at it'. It's also going to be useful if there are more bandits.

Actually it's just going to be bans on nobles having heavy or cavalry units. Disciplined archers and such aren't out of the question. Having three personal guard units won't be out of the question but that'll probably be the limit to any private army.
