Edit:  Trubaldsome get's a devil's bargain; 6 ducats and the industry of Miring rebuilt, but not only does it screw over the long term future of Miring, but the SCTG gets to station military troops in the province in case they ever have disagreements.

Remember that you don't have to accept an offer like that.

Edit 2:  Remember kids, monopolies are bad.  At least they are if you're already over your Trade Potential limit and a Commercial Monopoly will drop your TP by another 2 automatically.  TP is calculated as UP/2 (urban potential, defined by resources present) plus 0.5 for every resource the nation has access to via trade treaties or production.

Miring had TP 14 before Leuki's court imploded and the province was technically seized by Elbreth, cancelling all of Miring's trade treaties regardless of whether or not Miring is now technically independent again (for however long).  It needs to get back to at least TP 11 or it will lose all that tasty port tax income.

It seems that I will have to ally with Erik to muster enough force to remove SCTG from the Mirish coast if they settle there.

Also, what does the monopoly grant you? Is it a steady income  of x ducats per year or is it an exclusive right to deal in a certain sector or good? Because if guild demands exclusive rights to financial sector, that means that they control all the moneyt exchange and credit dealing in the given city/country, right?

E: Silly me, just went over the rules. I know what monopoly does now. But another thing, does the +3 competiton roll include trading abroad or is it only within the borders of the given kingdom that grants you monopoly?
