Ah, I forgot I meant to tell you about them leveling up stuff :P

Anyway - first you have to get yourself the books somehow (I'm not sure how, though, I'm not very Internet savvy. Because all the skills and talents. Though, for now at least, I guess you can say want kind of stuff you want your character to have and me and Glow can look around for related stuff. I'll check out for dodgy/persuasive stuff after I post this, I think. Well, for dodgy there's always Dodge but whatever.

Secondly: For characteristics, you have to divide your characteristics into three groups, which will decide how cheap or expensive advances in them will be (in the vanilla game these are predetermined, but Glowcat was kind enough to let us decide for ourself); Primary, Secondary and Tertiary. Primary is the cheapest. Three characteristics in each.

That's pretty much it, I think. We can choose any talent or skill we want, as long as we can justify the purchase to Glowcat.

Hope I made it understandable and not left anything out.

Also, characteristics is a pain to write.

Thanks, ah right, yeah I selected my primary/secondary/tertiary characteristics, but sadly I had no idea what I was doing and put fellowship in the third group. :P Anyway, I might have to go to the library later and try getting the stuff.

Psy rating 6? Oh god that will take a while.
Damn. I don't have any range anything.
There are no long range powers that actually do damage/stun people that I can use.
What's the threshold on Force Barrage? In the book it's 21, but I know you messed with the threshold numbers.
It's the only ranged attack that I could get at all (10mXWPbonus=50m). I mean, there is Force Bolt, but it's just one bolt, and only as powerful as a bolter (With no pen).
Also, what's your ruling on threshold overbleed? The book says 5, but that's really high in your system as I understand it.

My new character goal is to buy ALL the psychic powers. But god damn so many disciplines. Once I'm at my full potential (18 psy rating I think), if I don't have all of the disciplines can I just use them anyway, you know, due to being one of the most powerful psykers ever?

Well, so far I've only created thresholds for the RT Book, so I'm not prepared to give the new Dark Heresy power activations. For overbleed I was thinking x2/5, so 5->2, 10->4, though I've gotta review how that will effect the power balance. Just because your psyker is incredibly powerful doesn't mean he'll likewise be versatile. For instance, it's impossible for you to take Theosophamy at all since the Discipline requires Soul-Binding with the Emperor. You'd need to raise your Willpower more somehow to continue acquiring new Disciplines.

300 per session x4 sessions for 1200XP. That does not include the 500 Starting XP.

I mean, yeah, Thesophamy, but, being insanely powerful, I should be able to do something similar to bending the warp or my mind or some shit to give myself the ability to learn new things pretty much instantly. I'd just need biomancy for that.
Also, if I purchase all of the WP upgrades, I can have a total of 70.
Well, I'll just get forcebolt, it's threshold is 13. Couldn't dividing by .2 work for thresholds as well, not just overbleed? I haven't done any math on it, but it could work. Maybe .5 or .3?

What I had down for Forcebolt (using the RT book as a baseline) is an Activation of 5.

I also modified it a bit though, to represent how it's still something the psyker is aiming (which requires more than just raw willpower):

Quote
Force Bolt

Focus Time:   Half
XP Cost:      100
Threshold:      5
Range:      10m x Psy Rating
Prerequisite(s):   None

The psyker can hurl a bolt of force at an opponent. If he activates the Technique, he must make a Ballistics Skill Test at Easy (+20) difficulty. Success means the attack hits and deals 1d10 + (2 x Psy Rating) Impact damage. This attack can be dodged the same as any other attack, but if it hits the target is also knocked back half the manifesting Psy Rating in meters and rendered prone.

However, with the time constraints from school I won't be able to fill out the powers fully as I intended, so I may just revert back to the DH system for this campaign. I had hoped to convert all of DH to a more RT format but my free time is limited so it'll be easier on all of us by just dropping the different system except for the freeform development and discipline restrictions. Your Psychic Time Bomb flaw will still effect which rolls trigger a Phenomena (on rolls of 9 or 10). To represent Fettered strength I'll let you drop to half effective Psy Rating (effecting dice pool) and only trigger if the number of Phenomena Dice exceeds half your Willpower Bonus, Unfettered strength triggers if any dice end up as phenomena (normal DH pretty much), and Push will add up to +4 Psy Rating / Pool while decreasing the number to trigger an equal amount (similar to how my custom system worked - so +3 would lower the phenomena trigger range to 6-10). However, Fate no longer can be spent to cancel a phenomena entirely.

Damnit, well the public library system has failed me, so no access to the rulebooks still, I'm afraid.
If it's not too much trouble, someone else might have to give me a hand with using that experience.
...Or I could just go on scraping through with my wit and good looks. :P

Oh my that is a powerful force bolt. That would deal 1d10+10 damage. Thought that said WP bonus. Sorry. It's still more powerful than if it was just WP bonus flat, because my psy rating is 3, making that 1d10+6. I trust that since you're going back to DH Core, you'll set the power back to normal?
So, yeah, I'll get Force Bolt and Touch of Madness.
However, I'd like to ask that Touch of Madness be rolled on the Hallucinogen effects table, instead of the mental trauma table. I'd be willing to up the threshold on this from 11 to 15, because the Hallucinogen table does make the power a little more powerful.

So long as you meet the Char/Talent prereqs it's fine.

You can use the new Force Bolt if you want. I'll also allow the Hallucinogen switch.
