How is that a facepalm? I've been wanting a sandbox city/wilderness building game for years. This ones a bit bare, but the idea is good.

Few good games with the Minecraft/H&H spirit of building from what you find with your own hard work.

Its a facepalm cause its nothing like that... Go and reread the OP, and then look at the images...

Serendipity is a turn-based village management game. You will have to tell your home-made-customized people what to do and where to do it. You begin with an Adam-and-Eve situation. They are the first of their kind, and must forage and hunt in the beginning... and procreate.

SANDBOX VILLAGE BUILDING/MANAGEMENT GAME, HOOOOOOOOOOO!

You misunderstood me. I don't mean a graphical game. I'm an old-school MUD player, and I prefer MUDs to graphical games all the way. I love the Aurora-style text-building games. Don't need any ascii or 3d graphics to make me enjoy a game, just SUBSTANCE.

My point is, the IDEA of H&H and Minecraft is to build and explore, the graphics are just a projection of the idea in a visual form.

BUT... Minecraft and HnH are all Personal experiences. The best games to attach a "IDEA of." would be Sim City, Black and White, Creatures, Spore.

Your on the whole different mindset.

Eh, I hated Sim City for some reason. I'm more of a Civilization, Spore, Age of Empires type. I wasn't going insofar as to touch upon the actual breadth of the game, just the idea of detailed customization of the in-game world.

It really does seem like a fun game...

Definetly need to reduce output from some animals though - after 4 months, I had a stockpile of just over 800... For 2 people. :D

No you need to lower the chance of success in finding animals to hunt and then lowering the chance of succeeding in killing said animal. In your first turn you had your characters hunt straight away (last stream) and was able to find an animal then and there and KILL it in that first week within moments of opening their eyes for the first time...

About 1000 legs thing...  Perhaps make a switch on whether or not the number of bodyparts is variable?  A hundred winged creature could be cousin to one with 93, or w/e.  Possible make them more attractive/warlike based on number of teeth?

Nice little incestual village idea. I like.
It should allow for family trees like the ptolemys:

I really want that one as a "when". I want "grubs", and "virgin woman" to turn into a dragon. and monkey children to suddenly sprout wings. And I want the Dwarven Mutant Academy to only gain their powers upon reaching puberty. I also have a whole host of odd creatures that only make sense if I divide them into children and adults.

Also, tadpoles.
