I embarked on a volcano, but there's no flux stones!  Is there anyway that you guys can help me with this?

Embark somewhere with flux, if you want flux.

Or buy flux stones, if you can, otherwise, there isnt any non-mod way to get flux.

If you're near a volcano, theres a very good chance you do have flux - Marble is common in areas with volcanic activity.  Just dig deep if you have to, i'm sure you'll find some.

If you're feeling cheeky, you just need to add [REACTION_CLASS:FLUX] to any material you think qualifies in the raws. Actually, since all the fluxes are calcium carbonate, shouldn't it be possible to use eggs or shells as a source, given the dire shortages? Obviously it'd have to be a hugely inefficient to make a refined lump of it from these sources, but it's the same chemical.

The worst is when you embark on an area that supposedly has flux stone, then after getting your ironworking industry up and running, you find out there's only a tiny amount of flux in the whole your embark point.

There wasn't even enough to fully equip my first squad with steel.
