So in theory this should work, but I'd like some confirmation before I start

So here's the questions

1 Will this work? I want the water to go through the pump and out of the exit.
2 If that does work, what happens when I raise the pump? Will the water shoot in the air?
3 If it does shoot in the air, how far will it travel along the x and y axis when it lands?

The water will raise to the level of the output of the pump.  There's no inertia in water, so it won't shoot up into the air or make a jet or arc.  If you raise the pump, you'll get a sort of weird water pyramid at the fountain site, but again only to the level of the pump outlet.
