That is... the ENTIRE ocean.
In this world you can embark around an entire ocean.

I created a custom generated world, and the only things I changed were the number of caves, things pertaining to megabeasts/titans, and the end year, so nothing I did should have caused this.

Baldship, the proud dwarven shrine to The Ocean Of Deeps, is the name of the fortress I'm currently running on this map.

Anyone else ever seen an ocean this tiny?

And yes, this has a different name from the main ocean. Just that small area is "The Ocean Of Deeps".

I've seen a tiny ocean before that I was able to fit a 3x3 embark around and fully contain it. But yours looks smaller despite being a 4x4. You must have a lot of beach I guess. Out of curiosity does your mini-ocean touch the side of the embark, or is it fully contained?

Not a single thing from what I've seen.

As soon as I get the fort established, I plan to channel the little ocean to the map edge (Somehow? Any suggestions appreciated) To see if that will allow creatures to enter through the ocean.
