That happens all the time. Why do you think it's the stereotypical dwarf name?

i have about 20 or more natural urists running around.  i think one is my broker.

interestingly enough, like the "first" urist, most of my urists are female.

The Olins are the best workers.
Oddly enough, a high percentage of my appointed nobility (like managers) have been named Olin.

I once had a dwarf named Olin Olinar. (If I'm right, that means Tongs Tongsflesh.) He was a cool bookkeeper. His office was carved out of an empty level on the main stairway. This stairway descended into the HFS. He was, sadly, one of the first to go.

And RAKninja, that's because it's a female name. I don't think dwarf names are strictly gender-specific, but there's definitely a preference.

Cerol's are always a pain.  Never let them achieve notable rank in the fortress.  They'll drive you mad.

My Urists are always sooooo lazy. They just hang around, arranging parties. The hardest working Dwarves are Bomreks.

Olin Isethilral has been an important dwarf in three successive forts, somehow - in the first, a weaponsmith who created an artifact adamantine short sword; in the second, my militia commander (who, through sheer dumb luck and my personal decision, ended up wielding an artifact adamantine short sword); in the third and most successful, the only survivor of my starting seven, legendary in six skills, and my count.

Urist is the dwarvish word for dagger. Which is a misnamer really. Dwarves aren't that sharp...

Damn, I wish I knew how to make a link on that last sentence to the article on the wiki for Stupid Dwarf Trick.
My Urists are always sooooo lazy. They just hang around, arranging parties. The hardest working Dwarves are Bomreks.
That is why I said that dwarfs with the name of 'Urist' aren't that sharp (actually, this refers to ALL dwarfs...).

I saw one guy type in Bomrek McExpeditionLeader in a post about stopping a flood. Apparently their expedition leader's first name happened to be Bomrek.
