Hehe, I was told a few times there my Remi was pretty mean too. And I said it before in the other room, the game runs in cycles. A week or so with lots of matches and then a couple months of almost nothing, before it starts again.

I'll probably meander on a lil later.

I like using Alice, Sanae, or Yuyuko, but I'm terrible at the game and consistently lost in the last thread.

Mmm, I really should get back to this... though it would involve re-installing Hamachi and figuring out why my computer's been lagging like a bitch on online games recently.

I actually try to be reasonably competent with every character, though I seem to be best with Sakuya and Reimu, and completely terrible with Alice, Youmu, and Meiling.

I saw some guys over in /jp/ with a download link yesterday, but it got overloaded. Someone uploaded it on Megaupload, though, so it's not impossible to get.

I've tried it- ran out of continues on the final boss on my first (Normal) run. 

Hopefully there'll be an English patch in the not-too-distant future, since it only took a month to translate and patch TH12 - UFO.

Woah. I actually have Hisoutensoku!

Heck, I have Youtube videos of it.

Here is a tournament match I played against a friend. (He posted it on Youtube.) I played Sakuya, he Remilia. He kicked my butt.

Afterword he said that he wanted to teach me how to play Sakuya. So, I played Yukari (my favorite character in Touhou) against him as Sakuya.. I kicked his butt. Then he told me to play him Sakuya on Sakuya. So I obliged. Here is the resulting video that I uploaded.  You can see the results of both matches. 

Other Hisoutensoku favorites of mine include this amusing video, and this awesome match that not only fits the music, it takes cues from it.

Not to want to sound arrogant or anything, but I have to doubt anyone's claim to know how to teach a character when they're still using dial-A combos.

And does every Hisoutensoku match have at least one instance when one player tries to jump in just as the other dashes and they both completely miss each other? I thought that was just me being crap, but if it's common enough I can imagine it having some root in the mechanics (weird jump arcs or the fact that dashing is also defensive, or something like that).

Yeah, I saw (that's where I got the dial-A bit from). I just think it's a bit sad that people seem to imagine that's the full extent of the game or whatever.
