I've always wondered, what do 'spikes' of things like leather and cloth even look like? I can't picture any real life clothing, even costume or fanciful stuff, that have them. The best I can picture is like... Godzilla-style dorsal fins made of leather.

I always imagine them to look a bit like this:

 

 Cones of material stuffed with something. I can't imagine them ever looking very menacing though...

Earthworm leather spikes I'm imagining as freeze-dried earthworms sticking out of the figurine at strange angles...

Earthworm leather spikes probably look a bit like old shoelaces.

I've always found "hanging rings of pig tail fiber cloth" to be really weird.  Sure, they're not as unlikely as cloth spikes, but still.
