A friend of mine linked this to me, and it blew my mind.  Normally, video games nowadays (minus Dwarf Fortress, cause it's awesome like that), use polygons.  Fairly common knowledge nowadays.  This company made a new way to do graphics thats extremely similar to how the real world is made - atoms.  Its explained in far more detail (and far better, imo) in the video.

My question is though, is what kind of computer (or system) would they need to run those graphics shown at the 20 fps shown? I mean would it need to be PS3 strength, or is the level of system required past current game systems?

But still, thats awesome.  I look forward for the first game to be made with that.... see how it looks.

Already had a thread. Basically, while it is cool, it is nowhere near as cool as their sales pitch says. And really, games still won't be worth playing. Oooh, very shiny and pretty. Where's the content though?

Well, quality and plot have already been pretty much shunted aside by mainstream publishers in their quest to find the most bland, wide-base game possible. Graphics are pretty much the only thing besides the concept of "shoot the bad things" that haven't been scrapped, and only because casual gamers (read: drunken fratboys, annoying children and your mum) don't want to look at things that confuse them by not aping the real world in every way possible. So basically this is just a bit of a refinement on what a lot of companies are already shooting for.
