This is a masterwork thread.  It menaces with spikes of awesome.

I suppose you should get the poor guy a cat beard.

You need to make said elf leather into the most amazing work of art.  Embed it with every kind of gem you have, stud it with metals, and sew images into it.  Erect a shrine outside your fort with that in the center.  Let the elves know that you view their very skin as naught more but a medium for your dwarves to work on.

Oh, it's just some split ends. Get him a good conditioner and he'll be fine in no time.

Agree, plus that's about the LAST thing *I* want to see from this kind of game - author spending valuable development time on useless graphics.

So I suppose you've modded in beards yourself. Are they capable of using them like extra limbs?

Modded-in beards? What kind of man dwarf would Toady be if he left beards out?

But seriously, nah, they're vanilla. It's just very rare that they're actually injured, and that's generally the only time you see them outside of the character description.

Can dwarves re-grow beard?

If not, you must sacrifice him to Armok, so that Armok can then nurture the dwarf and have him re-gain his beard.
You might want to adorn is life with gold and finery to try and take his mind of his horrible facial injury.

A bit like like this guy? Good company, I guess.

The most horrific injury I've received was either a) having my head blown open by a silver maul wielding psycopathic hammerman, b) having my head lashed open by a copper whip wielding unsane lasher, c) having my head severed, d) having my face take a bolt through it, or e) having a giant ant bite my head in half.

This is in adventure mode, sorry if I violate the intention of this thread.

So long as the beard stays in place, I don't think it matters what happens to the head.  Or anything else, for that matter.
