Id is one of my more awesome military dwarfs.  He's taken quite a few hits from all sorts over the years.  He's being a brave soul, though.  Already back in training despite his horrific disfigurement.

No, what everyone is saying is just spreading on a silly meme. To answer your second question, the injury that this dwarf received is extremely rare. I've only seen it twice. It's not a body part, just part of the head.

Considering he lost his beard in honorable combat, probably with a Roc or 1000 year old dragon, it could be seen as a heroic act of self-sacrifice.
